Barack HUSSEIN Obama’s Top 10 Apology List:

1. Apology to Europe: Speech in Strasbourg, France, April 3. “In America, there’s a failure to appreciate Europe‘s leading role in the world. Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.”

2. Apology to the Muslim world: Interview with Al Arabiya, January 27. “My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy. We sometimes make mistakes. We have not been perfect.”

3. Apology to the Summit of the Americas: Address to the Summit of the Americas, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, April 17. “While the United States has done much to promote peace and prosperity in the hemisphere, we have at times been disengaged, and at times we sought to dictate our terms.”

4. Apology at the G-20 Summit of World Leaders: News conference in London, April 2. “I just think in a world that is as complex as it is, that it is very important for us to be able to forge partnerships as opposed to simply dictating solutions.”

5. Apology for the War on Terror: Speech in Washington, D.C., May 21. “Unfortunately, faced with an uncertain threat, our government made a series of hasty decisions. I believe that many of these decisions were motivated by a sincere desire to protect the American people. But I also believe that all too often our government made decisions based on fear rather than foresight, that all too often our government trimmed facts and evidence to fit ideological predispositions.”

6. Apology for Guantanamo in France: Speech in Strasbourg, France, April 3. “In dealing with terrorism, we can’t lose sight of our values and who we are. That’s why I closed Guantanamo. That’s why I made very clear that we will not engage in certain interrogation practices. I don’t believe that there is a contradiction between our security and our values. And when you start sacrificing your values, when you lose yourself, then over the long term that will make you less secure.”

7. Apology for America before the Turkish Parliament: Speech to the Turkish Parliament, Ankara, Turkey, April “The United States is still working through some of our own darker periods in our history. Facing the Washington Monument that I spoke of is a memorial of Abraham Lincoln, the man who freed those who were enslaved even after Washington led our Revolution. Our country still struggles with the legacies of slavery and segregation, the past treatment of Native Americans.”

8. Apology for U.S. Policy toward the Americas: Editorial “Choosing a Better Future in the Americas,” April 16. “Too often, the United States has not pursued and sustained engagement with our neighbors. We have been too easily distracted by other priorities, and have failed to see that our own progress is tied directly to progress throughout the Americas.”

9. Apology for the Mistakes of the CIA: Remarks to CIA employees at Langley, Va., April 29. “Don’t be discouraged that we have to acknowledge potentially we’ve made some mistakes.”

10. Apology for Guantanamo: Speech in Washington, D.C., May 21. “There is also no question that Guantanamo set back the moral authority that is America’s strongest currency in the world.”

Jesse Jackson’s Newest Staff Member

Mel Reynolds

Jesse Jackson has added former Chicago Democrat Congressman Mel to Rainbow/PUSH Coalition’s payroll.

Reynolds was among the 176 criminals excused in President Clinton’s last-minute forgiveness spree.

Reynolds received a commutation of his six-and-a-half-year federal sentence for 15 convictions of wire fraud, bank fraud, and lies to the Federal Election Commission.

He is more notorious, however, for concurrently serving five years for sleeping with an underage campaign volunteer.

This is a first in American politics: An ex-congressman who had sex with a subordinate…won clemency from a president who had sex with a subordinate…then was hired by a clergyman who had sex with a subordinate!

Delaware; Man 'driving commando' pulled over for speeding

RISING SUN, Md. -A Delaware man faces drunken driving charges after he was pulled over for speeding in northeastern Maryland and a sheriff's deputy noticed he wasn't wearing any pants.

A spokesman for the Cecil County Sheriff's Office says 41-year-old Jonathan Schultz "was driving commando."

The spokesman, Lt. Bernard Chiminto, said Schultz was stopped Saturday near Rising Sun for going 69 mph in a 50-mph zone.

The deputy smelled alcohol and noticed that Schultz was partially covered by a towel from the waist down. The Newark, Del., resident told the deputy he'd lost his pants, but the deputy didn't find any pants in the car.

Online court records did not indicate that Schultz had an attorney, and an attempt to reach him at a relative's home was unsuccessful.

Md. woman arrested twice in 5 hours for DUI

OCEAN CITY, Md. -Police arrested a Woodbine, Md. woman twice in five hours on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said a 20-year-old woman was swerving across lane markers and failed to stop at a stop sign about 2:15 a.m. Friday. When officers stopped her, police said she was driving under the influence of alcohol.

She was released on DUI and motor vehicle charges and almost five hours later, police saw her driving again.

Maryland law prohibits anyone from driving within 12 hours of a DUI arrest. Police stopped her again and charged her with DUI and other offenses. She was held on $25,000 bond.

State to Pay for Lawmaker's Bad Driving

The cash-strapped state of California will shell out $335,000 to settle a lawsuit filed over a former lawmaker's crazy driving, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Tuesday.
Carole Migden, then a state senator from San Francisco, rear-ended another motorist following a wild drive on May 18, 2007, the newspaper said.

The Chronicle said several people called 911 to report Migden's erratic driving as she weaved in and out of traffic in her state-issued vehicle. One caller reported the driver was "on the phone and reading a book, doing about 80 miles an hour."
Migden's 30-mile spree ended when her vehicle slammed into a 2005 Honda sedan driven by Ellen Butawan, who was slowing for a red light, the Chronicle said, quoting the California Highway Patrol.

Butawan, who suffered minor injuries, sued the state and Migden in Solano County Superior Court. The state defended Migden because the accident occurred while she was acting within the scope of her state employment, said Steven Gercer, supervising deputy attorney general.

He told the Chronicle the state had agreed to pay $335,000 to settle the suit.
California lawmakers are currently struggling to close a $26.3 billion deficit.
Migden said at the time that she remembered little of the drive and suggested that medication she was taking for treatment of leukemia may have been to blame. She pleaded no contest to reckless driving and was fined $710. Her license was suspended for several months.

Michael Jackson will be buried this week– without his brain

As his family tries to finalise details for the King of Pop’s funeral on Tuesday they have been told it will be held back for tests.

They faced the grim choice of waiting up to three weeks for Jackson’s brain to be returned to them or go ahead and bury him without it – which they have decided to do.

Los Angeles Coroner’s spokesman Craig Harvey confirmed that neuropathology tests will be carried out to see if it holds any clues to the exact cause of his death.

But the examination cannot begin until at least two weeks after the death when the brain has hardened sufficiently to slice it open.

Jackson died from a cardiac arrest at his Beverly Hills mansion on June 25 after a suspected overdose of painkillers.

Sources at the coroner’s office revealed that his brain was removed before his body was released to relatives the next day.

A forensic neuropathologist will test Jackson’s brain for, among other things, past drug use and whether he has suffered overdoses in the past.

The brain can also show any past abuse of alcohol or if the deceased had suffered from any one of a number of diseases. The source said that removing the brain is the “only way to carry out the tests”.

“The tissue has to be examined,” he said. “I can’t tell you how long that is going to take.”

One expert explained that the Jackson family could decide to wait and bury the brain with the rest of the body. But it is far more common for the lab to burn the remains once they’ve been examined or for them to be placed into the grave at a later date.

“It’s up to the family. They can bury him and then bury the brain later on,” said Dr Cyril Wecht, a former coroner and one of America’s foremost forensic pathologists.

But he added: “It’s rare for the body to be held back for two weeks or more.”

OPPRESSION HITS JULY 4TH PARADE"

OPPRESSION HITS JULY 4TH PARADE"The theme of the Bel Air Independence Day Parade was supposed to be "American Patriots, Then and Now!" Wow, talk about hypocrisy!

Apparently, Michael Blum, Chairman, and other members of the Parade Committee, don't have a clue as to what "patriotism" is really all about. Liberty and the Constitutional guarantee of free speech are the foundations of good old U.S.A. patriotism.

Chairman Blum and his gang confronted at least three participants in the parade and seized, on one occasion, Delegate Rick Impallaria's private signs.

Blum and company actually yanked these signs from the hands of the children who were carrying them, including a couple of eight year olds.

The reaction from the crowd watching the parade was vitriolic, including shouts of "Sign Nazis or Communists" referring to the sign police.

Although those sentiments may be a bit extreme, the crowd was obviously annoyed by Mr. Blum's antics. The messages that were proclaimed on Delegate Impallaria's signs were the following: "Support the Constitution," "Support the Tea Parties," and "Cut Taxes." Remember, the theme of the parade was "American Patriots, Then and Now.

"Ironically, on the same day as the parade, more than 500 citizens showed up that morning at a Tea Party in downtown Bel Air. I am sure Chairman Blum was not in attendance at the tea party.

Delegate Impallaria was not the only elected official that Blum and his hit squad harassed during the parade. Prior to the Impallaria incident, Mr. Blum attempted to intimidate me and demanded that I remove my "Speak English" slogan, which was part of my Delegate Pat McDonough signs.

I told Mr. Blum that the Constitution was more important to me than his opinion. The signs remained with me throughout the course of the parade, igniting loud cheers and a lively response from the patriotic crowd.

I reminded Mr. Blum that my signs had appeared in five previous Bel Air parades without receiving any intimidation from him or anyone else. Moreover, it is important to note that all of the other July 4th parades included signs and slogans from everyone.

I had just departed from the Greater Kingsville Parade where not only were the signs welcomed, but the parade officials read them out loud as they passed by the reviewing stand. Apparently, parade officials all around the state support freedom of speech and expression.

Mr. Blum has decided to turn Bel Air into a "free speech dead zone."Citizen Blum proudly boasts on his personal website that he is a "yellow dog democrat.

" This type of individual, according to the popular definition, will blindly vote for anyone who is a democrat, even a "yellow dog." This kind of narrow thinking means Blum is a predictable advocate for President Obama's policies of more government, less liberty, and reckless spending.

The "yellow dog democrat" is probably deeply offended by the popular, growing TEA PARTY grassroots movement in Harford County. One could honestly ask the question, "Is Chairman Blum misusing his authority over the Bel Air parade to promote his own agenda and silence other opinions?"Obviously, some type of action must be initiated to prevent this type of ugly incident from occurring again.

A number of citizens have come together in order to review the options available, ranging from litigation to protest, and a replacement of Michael Blum with a fellow citizen who understands the true meaning of patriotism, free speech, and America's birthday on July 4th. The following are the important mailing addresses and e-mail addresses in Harford County, if you wish to comment on the article, "Oppression Hits July 4th Parade." Woman allegedly pranks her grandma 45 times in day

CAMBRIDGE, Minn. -A 21-year-old woman faces felony charges after allegedly prank-calling her 69-year-old grandmother 45 times in one day, threatening to kill her. The woman faces five felony counts including harassment. A criminal complaint said she told police she was "bored" and "wanted to have some fun."
The woman and a 20-year-old friend, also facing charges, allegedly called the older woman on Feb. 5 and said "I'm gonna kill you," "You're going to die" and "I'm watching you."
Police officers answered some calls for the grandmother and heard a female caller make threats.
The criminal complaint said the suspect told investigators she wanted to scare her grandmother but didn't want her dead. She said she knew it was wrong but not illegal.

Politician Calls Jackson a 'Pedophile'

In an attempt to raise awareness about the unrecognized efforts of U.S. teachers, police officers, veterans and volunteers, New York congressman Peter King decided to rip Michael Jackson apart in his latest YouTube video. King takes a swift jab at society for putting Jackson on a pedestal, calling the singer a "low life" and "child molester."
"There is nothing good about this guy. He may have been a good singer and did some dancing, but the bottom line is would you let your child or grandchild be in the same room as Michael Jackson?" King said.

The Republican congressman believes that the media is to blame for the "day in and day out" coverage of Jackson's death and is "too politically correct."
"Let's knock out the psycho babble. He was a pervert. He was a pedophile... No one wants to stand up and say, 'We don't need Michael Jackson,'" King said.
Adding that there are Americans dying every day in Afghanistan, King says our society should be spending more time focusing on the true heroes and less on Jackson. "What are we glorifying him for? ...We shouldn't be glorying some pervert," he said.

Obama Apologizes for Our Declaration of Independence in 1776.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Just in time for the document’s 233rd anniversary, President Barack Obama has issued an executive order apologizing to Great Britain for America’s Declaration of Independence in 1776.

“It’s time to move away from the failed policies of the past,” said Obama during a Rose Garden press conference, “and the first step is apologizing for the original sin of this nation against the sensibilities of the international community.”

“The Declaration of Independence from the wise and benevolent guiding hand of Great Britain was, in the eyes of some, an important step,” said Obama. “But the manner in which it was handled was an affront to acceptable diplomatic norms. This crude and disparaging document heaped numerous, undeserved insults on the divine ruler of our compassionate and nurturing motherland. It used such crass and dispicable terms as ‘tyrant’ and ‘despot’ to describe the gracious tolerance of King George the Third to the aspersions and indignities heaped upon him by a cabal of ungrateful rebels.”

“Therefore,” declared Obama, “we, the people of the United States of America, do formally apologize and ask for the forgiveness of the descendants and heirs of Great Britain’s people and monarchy.”

Reaction to the apology was mixed.

Vice President Joe Biden said the apology was “a good start,” but noted that if we really wanted to make amends for 233 years of disloyalty, America would have to “show our sincerity with deeds, not words”.

“If we really want to make up with Great Britain,” said Biden, “we need to become more like them. We should adopt their health care system. And their ban on guns. And their ban on knives. Man, I hate knives… I cut myself on one last time I was in my secret undisclosed location under the old U.S. Naval Observatory… hey, this is off the record, right?”

Queen Elizabeth the Second said that she would “consider” accepting the apology if Obama would “take back this stupid iPod and send me a Kindle 2.”

Obama, answer this question

Obama answer one simple question:

What passport did he use when he was shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi ?

So how did a young man who arrived in New York in early June 1981, without the price of a hotel room in his pocket, suddenly come up with the price of a round-the-world trip just a month later?

And once he was on a plane, shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi , what passport was he offering when he passed through Customs and Immigration?

The American people not only deserve to have answers to these questions, they must have answers.

It makes the debate over Obama’s citizenship a rather short and simple one.

Q: Did he travel to Pakistan in 1981, at age 20?

A : Yes, by his own admission.

Q: What passport did he travel under?

A: There are only three possibilities.
1) He traveled with a U.S. Passport,
2) He traveled with a British passport, or
3) He traveled with an Indonesia passport.

Q: Is it possible that Obama traveled with a U.S. Passport in 1981?

A: No. It is not possible. Pakistan was on the U.S. State Department’s “no travel” list in 1981.

Conclusion:
When Obama went to Pakistan in 1981 he was traveling either with a British passport or an Indonesian passport.

If he were traveling with a British passport that would provide proof that he was born in Kenya on August 4, 1961, not in Hawaii as he claims. And if he were traveling with an Indonesian passport that would tend to prove that he relinquished whatever previous citizenship he held, British or American, prior to being adopted by his Indonesian stepfather in 1967.

Whatever the truth of the matter, the American people need to know how he managed to become a “natural born” American citizen between 1981 and 2008..

Given the destructive nature of his plans for America, as illustrated by his speech before Congress and the disastrous spending plan he has presented to Congress, the sooner we learn the truth of all this, the better.

Lonely Man Steals Lawn Statues to Talk To
A Japanese man is accused of stealing lawn ornaments to keep him company since both his father and brother died, according to Weird Asia News.

Osamu Kimura, 52, was caught holding a ceramic frog in the front yard of a homeowner, who called police, Weird Asia News reported. When police caught Kimura, he was stealing a 2-foot tall ceramic raccoon, and they found at least 30 ceramic frogs, dogs and raccoons inside his apartment, the story said.

Kimura, who is unemployed, told police he was stealing the lawn ornaments for the past year so he'd have someone to talk to.

Former Family Speaks On Daughter's Alleged Crime

I really don't know what to say about this, so I'm just going to copy the article from the WMDT website

A mother of five is facing several charges after police say she abandoned her newborn in a portable toilet. The suspect's former inlaws, say her actions are a result of a woman struggling with mental illness for many years.

Candy married into the Vigneri family 25 years ago. Her former father in-law Pete says she was beautiful and full of life, but after giving birth to her second child she began to struggle with depression and schizophrenia. Pete says as the years progressed she became worse. "Our biggest fear was that the family one day would get a call and say we found Candy dead." said Pete Vigneri.

That wasn't the news the Vigneri family received on Monday morning. Instead they found out that Candy Vigneri, was arrested for child abuse and reckless endangerment when she gave birth to a baby girl in a portable toilet. "She had blood over her from what people tell us. She just walked over had blood all over her and she said give me a cigarette. Then someone was going over to use the porta-potty and she said no you can't use that, there's a baby in there and they went and looked and there it was and she just walked away," said Pete Vigneri.

Those who knew Candy say they weren't surprised to hear she left her newborn in the portable toilet, and now they say they're hoping she'll get the help she needs. "It's sad. She's a danger to herself and she may be a danger to other people, I mean she's already endangered a child. Had nobody been there, had this been at midnight and she went to the bathroom there that child would be dead," said Pete Vigneri, fighting back tears.

Both Candy and the infant were transported to Easton Memorial Hospital for treatment. The baby is stable and has been released to social services.

Woman Stashes Squirrel in Cleavage

Police interviewing an Ohio woman about a murder case get quite the surprise when a squirrel suddenly pops out of her tank top. The woman pushes the animal back into her top and continues with the interview.

Embedded video from CNN Video

At one point in the interview, the woman, wearing a skimpy tank top, leaned over and out of her bosom crept a baby squirrel that was nestled in the woman's cleavage. The woman, seemingly unphased, gently put the small creature back inside her shirt and continued talking to the detective.

The shocked detective said that he was at a loss for words. "The squirrel seemed quite happy," Mackey said.

It is not clear if the squirrel is the woman's pet or even why she decided to bring with her for the interview.

The two are not expected to be called to testify during the trial.

FFSearcher Stealthily Hijacks Your Searches

Click fraud, the redirecting of search requests to malicious sites, is one of the more easily recognized pests in the malware world.

The problem for the fraudsters is that most users quickly realize something is amiss when they search for something on Google and it is instead displayed on some other (and likely unfamiliar) site. But the hackers behind the new Nine Ball attack have figured out how to disguise their click fraud scheme by using Google's AdSense for Search program.

The Google product allows users to put a Google search box on their page, and the company profits by collecting commission on ads displayed alongside the results.

FFSearcher, as the new scheme is called, has found a hole in the system that allows it to hijack all searches on Google and redirect them through a custom AdSense search.

That means that search results are displayed with little evidence that the data is being intercepted by a third party. The fraud is even harder to recognize since FFSearcher doesn't point you towards other malicious sites, it simply collects revenue if a searcher clicks on ads displayed on the results page.

SecureWorks has alerted Google to the fraud, and Google has begun shutting down AdSense accounts associated with it. Unfortunately, FFSearcher has the ability to switch accounts, meaning Google may simply be engaging in a wild goose chase.

Thankfully, there are ways to detect an infection. AdSense searches don't appear exactly the same as a standard Google search.

If your search results page doesn't display a total number of results, you may have been a victim of FFSearcher. If you think you have been compromised by FFSearcher, run anti-malware programs (yes, plural) such as Spybot, AVG, or -- for the more advanced among you -- HijackThis. Has Anyone Heard About the Captured Soldier?

We have a U.S. Soldier that has been captured and the MSM is busy reporting on Michael Jackson, a cheating governor, and Palin resigning, etc. in the midst of all we have going on in the country this is what the MSM sees as 'important' news.

I don't see it as news at all and frankly everyone in this nation should be completely pissed-off that we have absolutely no news reported from the MSM on a captured U.S. soldier that is/was fighting for our freedoms that we are losing daily along with Korea firing missiles while the MSM reports on Michael Jackson.

It seams as if they are not reporting real news as it does not fit their agenda, their puppet hussein obama is failing fast so the M.J. death came right on time so they don't have to report on the white house blunder.

Joe Biden is visiting his son in Iraq and the MSM does do a snip here and there on that, now what if it was Bidens son that was captured? Hmmmmm..

21st century name urged for industrial park

I'm surprised they don't want to call it obama park

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. -- The Pocomoke City Industrial Park may get a new name.

"Use something more 21st century and more flexible," said U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., at a meeting with the Worcester County Commissioners on Tuesday.

Instead, the senator suggested, why not call the area an "enterprise park" or something else that denotes the technological and modern conveniences that are being integrated into the facility.

With a new broadband Internet line -- part of the Maryland Broadband Cooperative project -- and infrastructure money for green buildings, the park is an example of the amenities Worcester County officials and Mikulski agreed need expanding as companies serving the growing activities at NASA's Wallops Island Flight Facility seek their own locations nearby.

Wallops' Mid-Atlantic Regional spaceport will be the launch site for Orbital Science Corporation's Taurus II rocket program -- a 130-foot rocket that will take supplies, food, medicine and spare parts to the international space station -- and Mikulski said the project can spur local economic growth. Mikulski on Monday attended a groundbreaking ceremony for a new launchpad to support the Orbital project.

"It's all part of looking at how we can have jobs here on the Eastern Shore," Mikulski said, stressing the importance of digital and more traditional local commerce. Construction of the launch facility is expected to create nearly 300 new jobs in the near future and bring another 400 high-tech jobs to the area by 2010.

To lure those companies north of the Virginia border, Worcester County Commissioners President Louise Gulyas said local officials are "chomping at the bit to help them have what they need."

But Accomack County and state officials also are eager to bring to Virginia the jobs and dollars that will come along with the Orbital project and other commercial ventures expected to use the spaceport in the future. They hope to lure business to the newly created Wallops Research Park, located on over 200 acres just outside NASA's main gate.

Accomack County Board of Supervisors Chairman Steve Mallette along with NASA and Marine Science Consortium officials two months ago -- after a decade-long effort -- signed the document legally forming the park, which is a cooperative effort of the three entities.

The Marine Science Consortium, which has been at Wallops since 1971, recently held a groundbreaking on a $15 million campus renovation and plans to expand its scope to reflect its new association with NASA and the park.

BaySys Technologies, a company which specializes in installing luxury interiors in airplanes, and Navy contractor Northrup Grumman are the first two park tenants. The research park master plan also includes a workforce training and business incubator facility on the site.

Officials expect to hear this fall whether a federal appropriation to pay for construction of a $4 million taxiway linking the research park with a NASA runway will be approved.

Additionally, an open access fiber network is being constructed through the Eastern Shore Broadband Initiative that will make broadband service available to park tenants.

In additional efforts north of the state line, along with improvements to the Pocomoke City Industrial Park and the laying of broadband cables throughout the county, Worcester County has plans for a rail link from the Eastern Shore of Virginia to Frankford, Del. The railroad would follow an existing track, which serves the Tyson Foods Inc. chicken feed facility in Snow Hill and parts of the southern end of the county.

Jerry Redden, the director of economic development for the county, explained the project to Mikulski, asking for help in acquiring federal transportation stimulus money for improvements to the aged infrastructure and to connect Pocomoke City and Wallops Island into the rail system.

"What we are talking about here is a track that goes from Pocomoke City to Wallops Island for these rockets," Redden said.

While Mikulski seemed to approve of the idea --- mentioning that it was good for high-tech jobs and traditional agriculture -- she said the county would have to "flesh it out" with Wallops and the other stakeholders before she would back the plan.

"This is a big deal," she said. "It's not only who can do it, it's who will own the rail, it's who will maintain the rail."

The senator's infrastructure priorities are the availability of broadband Internet for businesses, schools and residents; improvements to wastewater facilities; and the expansion of Route 113. Mikulski told commissioners to actively appeal to the governor and state agencies for stimulus money for wastewater projects. She also said an additional $2 million was being allocated for phase three of the highway dualization project and that reliable high-speed Internet may help to spur the local economy and reduce the "staggering" 15 percent unemployment rate.

"I've thought very much about broadband for the Eastern Shore and western Maryland, and it really is going to be our information superhighway," she said.

The Story of Independence Day

Is history repeating itself? Does this sound familiar?

America's Birthday

Independence Day is the national holiday of the United States of America commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

At the time of the signing the US consisted of 13 colonies under the rule of England's King George III. There was growing unrest in the colonies concerning the taxes that had to be paid to England. This was commonly referred to as "Taxation without Representation" as the colonists did not have any representation in the English Parliament and had no say in what went on. As the unrest grew in the colonies, King George sent extra troops to help control any rebellion. In 1774 the 13 colonies sent delegates to Philadelphia Pennsylvania to form the First Continental Congress. The delegates were unhappy with England, but were not yet ready to declare war.

In April 1775 as the King's troops advanced on Concord Massachusetts Paul Revere would sound the alarm that "The British are coming, the British are coming" as he rode his horse through the late night streets.

The battle of Concord and its "shot heard round the world" would mark the unofficial beginning of the colonies war for Independence.

The following May the colonies again sent delegates to the Second Continental Congress. For almost a year the congress tried to work out its differences with England, again without formally declaring war.

By June 1776 their efforts had become hopeless and a committee was formed to compose a formal declaration of independence. Headed by Thomas Jefferson, the committee included John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Robert R. Livingston and Roger Sherman. Thomas Jefferson was chosen to write the first draft which was presented to the congress on June 28. After various changes a vote was taken late in the afternoon of July 4th. Of the 13 colonies, 9 voted in favor of the Declaration, 2 - Pennsylvania and South Carolina voted No, Delaware undecided and New York abstained.

To make it official John Hancock, President of the Continental Congress, signed the Declaration of Independence. It is said that John Hancock signed his name "with a great flourish" so "King George can read that without spectacles!."

The following day copies of the Declaration were distributed. The first newspaper to print the Declaration was the Pennsylvania Evening Post on July 6, 1776. On July 8th the Declaration had its first public reading in Philadelphia's Independence Square. Twice that day the Declaration was read to cheering crowds and pealing church bells. Even the bell in Independence Hall was rung. The "Province Bell" would later be renamed "Liberty Bell" after its inscription -

Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants Thereof

And although the signing of the Declaration was not completed until August, the 4th of July has been accepted as the official anniversary of United States independence. The first Independence Day celebration took place the following year - July 4 1777. By the early 1800s the traditions of parades, picnics, and fireworks were established as the way to celebrate America's birthday. And although fireworks have been banned in most places because of their danger, most towns and cities usually have big firework displays for all to see and enjoy.

Pocomoke; Landlord Faces Fines for House with Unsafe Levels of Lead

Will this be another vacant lot belonging to the city of Pocomoke, It doesn't look like it will be long before forth street looking north west, will be water front/view property at the rate houses are burning in that area.

A local man faces fines due to unsafe levels of lead inside a home he was renting, according to the Maryland Department of the Environment.

MDE says it was spurred by a third-party complaint that two units at 204 Walnut Street in Pocomoke City contained high levels of lead throughout the house. The organization says it inspected the residence and then issued a fine of $15,000 to Berlin resident John Jay Cox.

Maryland state property records show the house was built in 1920 and is owned by Cox. Cox could not be reached for comment by phone or at his home.

MDE says Cox was renting rooms and didn't take steps to remove the sources of lead, which MDE says is against the law.

"The property owner had not complied with the state law which requires registration of properties, pre-1950 rental properties, and doing risk reduction treatments before tenants can occupy those properties," said Alvin Bowles, a program manager with MDE.

The fine was issued in April and since then, MDE says Cox has appealed it. Neighbors say besides concerns of lead paint in the house, there was also a fire that destroyed part of the home in May.

Walter Eskiewicz, who lives in an adjacent home, said he had to rescue the occupants from the home when it caught on fire.

"The place was filling up with smoke and oddly enough I didn't even hear a smoke detector," he said. "But eventually we got everyone out before the fire department got here."

The house is now condemned with part of the building charred from the fire. There are also broken windows and litter scattered throughout the yard. Doctors say lead poisoning from things like lead dust particles or paint chips can be serious.

"The big bad problem is brain problems: Mental retardation, problems with thinking and processing," said Dr. Geraldine Goertzen.

Dr. Goertzen said anemia can also be a concern with lead poisoning.

Cambridge Woman Gives Birth in Portable Toilet

Authorities say a 44-year-old Cambridge woman is facing child abuse and related charges after giving birth to a baby girl in a portable toilet and then abandoning her.
On Monday at around 9:39 a.m., Cambridge police officers and Cambridge EMS responded to Long Wharf Park for a 911 call regarding a childbirth incident.

According to police, officers learned that 44-year-old Candy Michelle Vigneri gave birth to a baby girl in a portable toilet located on the east side of Long Wharf Park.

Police say that after giving birth, Vigneri left the infant in the portable toilet. A short time later a witness arrived in the area and was able to dial for emergency assistance. Both Vigneri and the infant were transported by ambulance to Easton Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The infant is listed in stable condition and will be released to the custody of Social Services, according to police.

Firestone nearly doubles previous tire recall

Bridgestone is recalling 127,000 Firestone tires sold in 2007 and 2008 -- nearly doubling an earlier recall of tires from the same line, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced.

All the tires involved are FR380 P235/75R15.Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC, formerly known as Bridgestone Firestone North America, said the tread base of the tires was not made correctly and could cause tread separation and loss of control of a vehicle after extended use.

No incidents have been reported, the company told NHTSA.In the fall, the company recalled more than 162,000 tires made in 2006 and 2007 for the same reason. All the tires being recalled were made at the company's plant in Costa Rica. Bridgestone told NHTSA the problem was remedied at the plant in July 2008.

For anyone with the affected tires, Firestone is supposed to notify owners that they will be replaced for free -- including mounting and balancing.

The replacement tires can be obtained at authorized Firestone dealers or company owned stores, including Firestone Complete Auto Care and TiresPlus.

Tire owners can also call Bridgestone at 800-465-1904 or visit the company web site.Firestone also told the government it will reimburse customers who incurred costs related to the recalled tires.
