August 3, 1492 - Palos de la Frontera, Spain

Today Christopher Columbus announced that, out of an abundance of caution, he has decided to cancel his voyage in search of a shorter passage to Cipangu and the Orient. In a prepared statement Columbus stated, "It's just too dangerous. There might be monsters and cannibals and we most certainly will encounter thunderstorms and you know how leaky these wooden ships are. I think we shall sail up to Portugal and discover some Mateus or maybe a good Port, instead. It's just a whole lot closer."

If you check your files from approximately 12 years ago, you will find where I warned about this money-wasting turkey. I seem to recall a reply about how nice it would be to stop by after a hot day of boating on the Pocomoke River.

Erin Burnett was born on July 2, 1976 at Peninsula General Hospital in Salisbury to Mr. and  Mrs. K. King Burnett.  Her father was a prominent attorney in the Salisbury area. The family's home was at Mardela Springs. Erin attended the Salisbury School through her early teens, a private school for academically qualified students.  She completed school at St. Andrew's Boarding School in Middletown, De., and later graduated from Williams College, a private liberal arts college in Williamstown, Ma.  Before joining CNN she was a business reporter for CNBC.

I knew K. King Burnett well. He was a very liberal attorney and counselor of choice of Ilia Fehrer. The apple does not fall far from the tree.

(Pocomoke Public Eye- Ilia Fehrer was known for her dedication to environmental interests on the lower Eastern Shore including membership on the Committee to Preserve Assateague, and preservation efforts for the Pocomoke River and Nassawongo Creek.)
