Worcester Schools To Offer Addiction Education

(WBOC)

Worcester County Board of Education Approves Naloxone Administration Policy

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. - Back in 2017, lawmakers in Annapolis passed the "Start Talking Maryland Act."
That act requires public schools to offer education about heroin and opioid addiction and prevention.
The law also requires school boards to establish a policy related to the administration of naloxone, a medication that reverses an opioid overdose.
The Worcester County Board of Education has passed its Naloxone Administration Policy.

Two Downtown Buildings Demolished

Demolition of the Lusby building and the old Dance Loft started late morning on February 22, 2019.  The City has contracted with Harry White of Pocomoke Recycling Co, Inc. to do the demolition and clean up of the 2 buildings. Unfortunately, these buildings were beyond reasonable and economical repair due to the neglect of upkeep. The City has made a hard commitment to address abandoned, dilapidated, and public safety buildings. The City is also committed to a revitalization effort to replace demolished buildings with more modern, attractive buildings that will blend in with the current Downtown appearance. The City will be presenting a conceptional drawing and plan in the very near future. Straight line from downtown Salisbury to downtown Pocomoke is 20 miles. Would go near West Post Office, Perryhawkin and Cokesbury. Would kind of parallel the back way to Salisbury through the Pocomoke Forest.
