1965..  Pocomoke considering restructuring its governing body by hiring a town manager, reducing the number of city council members, and increasing the salary of the council and mayor. 

1900..  The era of horseless carriages is rapidly approaching and the expense of keeping such vehicles "will be mere nothing."
