Movie, laser show in Snow Hill park

(June 25, 2020) Worcester County Recreation and Parks is bringing a free, drive-in movie experience to Snow Hill, on Saturday, June 27, at 9 p.m.

Families are invited to watch “Trolls” at the John Walter Smith Park.

All movie goers will be asked to follow social distancing guidelines and stay in their designated areas. Space will be available on a first come, first-served basis, with load in beginning at 8 p.m.

After the movie, there will be a laser show and dance party. There will be free popcorn, giveaways and interactive games.

“Folks are anxious for live entertainment,” Program Manager Allen Swiger said. “A drive-in movie is the perfect opportunity for a fun evening with the family, while maintaining social distancing and health guidelines.

“But this is so much more than just a movie,” he continued. “Capping the night with a laser show and dance party will be a blast.”

Keep in mind that Don Moore's Maryland State speed record in the fancy Duesenberg equals all of 54 miles per hour...a truly frightening speed in 1923!

The Y-Restaurant later became well known as the Starlight under different owners.

Pony Ranch started out as a Dairy Queen and later morphed into a real restaurant. The first banana splits in Pocomoke were served at Pony Ranch.

In the 1950's/1960's where else in Pocomoke could you get pizza?  Anyone remember chocolate zips (sort of chocolate milk mixed with small ice chips)?  They were available at most places around town that had soda fountains.
