Pocomoke City parking regulations enforcement-
City of Pocomoke Announces Enforcement of Parking Regulations Beginning May 1, 2026
Pocomoke City, MD — April 2, 2026 — As part of its ongoing commitment to community safety and accessibility, the City of Pocomoke, in coordination with the Pocomoke City Police Department, will begin enhanced enforcement of municipal parking regulations starting May 1, 2026.
Vehicles found in violation of city parking ordinances may be subject to citation. This initiative is designed to improve traffic flow, ensure emergency access, and maintain safe, accessible public spaces for residents, businesses, and visitors.
The following parking violations will be strictly enforced:
Parking opposite the flow of traffic
Parking in a posted no-parking zone
Double parking
Parking on a yellow line
Blocking a private, business, or public entrance
Standing, parking, or stopping on a sidewalk
Standing, parking, or stopping within 15 feet of a fire hydrant
Standing or stopping in a marked fire lane
Standing, parking, or stopping in handicapped zones or designated accessible spaces
Other violations as set forth in Chapter 220 of the City Code
City officials encourage all motorists to review local parking regulations and comply with posted signage to avoid penalties.

Amanda Russell is the new Community Outreach Coordinator who loves bringing people together and building strong community connections. With 14 years of teaching experience and two years at the Delmarva Discovery Museum, she’s known for creating and marketing fun, engaging educational events that spark curiosity in visitors of all ages.
When she’s not working, Amanda stays busy in the community—hosting a cozy knit night at Cypress Roots and volunteering at the Great Pocomoke Fair. She enjoys meeting new people, sharing ideas, and finding creative ways to make her community an even better place to live.
In this new role, Amanda will develop strategies to engage diverse groups & ensure events are inclusive & welcoming for all community members.

Response to diesel Leak at Pocomoke dock-

Update regarding the diesel leak 3/31/26. Residents may continue to notice a strong diesel fuel odor due to shifting wind direction. The Fire Department and Hazmat team deployed containment booms around the vessel to control the spill.

Volunteers needed for sprucing up around town!
Seeking groups and individuals for Pocomoke Community Clean Up. Many hands make light work.
8 am Meet at Fairgrounds to pick up bags, gloves, and other gear to be provided by City. Receive area assignments.
11 am Return to Fairgrounds with bagged trash to be deposited into garbage truck. Large items that are unable to be moved can be left at roadside for Public Works to pick up.
Noon - Hotdogs and soft drinks at Cypress Roots Brewing Company provided by City of Pocomoke and Cypress Roots Brewing Company.

Reminder!!! The Pocomoke City trash pick-up schedule is different this week due to the Good Friday Holiday. Thursday, April 2nd Pick-ups will be Wednesday, April 1st. Friday, April 3rd Pick-ups will be Thursday, April 2nd! City Hall is Closed Friday, April 3rd for the Holiday.
