It says "Homicide" but then "ATT 1ST DEGREE MURDER." Does the "ATT" mean attempted? I wish someone would explain.

Fact: Retired Captain Marty Kerner MSP, who was hired by the Pocomoke City Police and was second in command quit Tuesday 9/28/2010. Stated quote: I have problems with Chief Ervin and his way of leadership. Pocomoke lost a good man. Ervin needs to GO

  4. There was another community meeting on September 23 where Chief J.D. Ervin was present and asked for the citizens of Pocomoke to "step forward and help form Neighborhood Crime Watch groups throughout the city. And then he went on to "remind" the citizens that these groups had been used in the city before but turned it into a blame the citizen for letting their efforts drop.

I would say the opportunity was there AT THAT MEETING for the Chief to share with those attending, the number of burglaries, breaking and enterings, and thefts that had currently occured.

This is rediculous. And the Pocomoke people can not fight crime IF they do not know what and where it exists.

Don't force hims to retire. Just force him to earn his keep while working for the city. Get your money's worth out of him before he retires........There is absolutely NO reason for the People of Pocomoke to not be informed with every detail of every crime in that city. Just heresay and half the story isn't enough.

And don't get discouraged with your community meetings! Stay the course, be patient, be polite but be firm to let them KNOW you mean business this time. Nasty does not work.

Burglary, theft, assualt, and attempted murder over and over again!

The criminals must know something that we law abiding citizens don't know. But then again us law abiding citizens know that we would be locked up for a very long time if it were us comitting these crimes.

Us citizens who work for a living and abide by the laws have something to take if we break the laws. The criminals are broke, make a living off of our tax paying money through State Assistance, wouldn't be able to pay a fine if one were slapped on them so they run loose on our streets.

It doesn't matter what your political affilation is. The system is broken and needs an overhaul. Tougher sentences might be a good start.
