Worcester County State’s Attorney Joel Todd said “it would be inappropriate to comment” on whether the body was that of missing woman Christine Sheddy. Sheddy disappeared from a Pocomoke-area farm house in November 2007.
Officials from the Maryland State Police, Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Worcester County Bureau of investigation and Worcester County State’s Attorney’s Office were led to the site as part of a larger investigation, Todd said.
The remains, which were found with a pair of shoes and some jeans, will be sent to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore.
Todd said he did not know how long the body had been there, and declined to comment any further for the sake of the investigation.
All I can say is-This is very sad. :(
ReplyDeleteI imagine for the family, of whomever this turns out to be, it will be sadness along with a great relief.
Could this be Christine? I for one hope so - meaning that if it is, she can finally be laid to rest and her family can find peace.
ReplyDeleteIt would also mean an end to Nictitate and her groupies who've accused everyone and anyone that they could. Bye, bye!
It appears that LE was given a tip which lead them to search the site so LE has an idea of who the remains are. Time will tell.
I just don't understand why someone would bury a body in town with all the empty land and woods around.
ReplyDeleteCould it be that the remains weren't buried at the site by human hands like the DT's article leads one to believe? That entire area including the bridge to Rt 12 was completely flooded and closed down a few months ago. Could the remains have washed up and been covered by the floods?
I'm totally confused because looking at the article in the paper the picture shows Scott Brent. Isn't he with either the Wicomico Investigation Bureau or the Wicomico Co task force?
ReplyDeletePhoto caption says Maryland State Police.
ReplyDeleteHe could still be assigned to either the task force or the investigative bureau. Both are made up of members of all local LE agencies. Like Mike McDermott is an employee of the worcester co sheriff's office assigned to the WCBI.
ReplyDeleteThat area isn't exactly a deserted area with the canoe rental and laucnhing spots. Could the remains have just washed up with all the recent flooding?
ReplyDeletethis is so close to where Theresa Johnson's family was living at the time and not at all close to Pocomoke. I have thought before that there could be no way anyone was staying at that farm after the chimney fire. It was winter, the roof had a hugh hole in it and the interior had to be soaked if not inches of water in it. Maybe everyone's been off base concentrating on the farm?
ReplyDeleteI understand the tip came from an inmate at the county jail who squealed on one of his fellow prisoners. The guy claimed to be a former gardener at the River House and said he buried her in the garden.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the story, Billy Burke is sure to get his panties in a wad and we will be hearing from the usual crowd of nuts, hangers-on, wannabe detectives and "experts".
They were found on the Bed and Breakfast property. Didn't both Jr and Tia work there?
ReplyDeleteBilly's already got his panties in a wad hashing and rehashing every conspiracy he's ever dreamed up. Billy injecting politics into this whole tragedy is discusting, immoral and repulsive!
ReplyDeleteTia mother and brother worked there also at some point.
ReplyDeleteOh ya mean the tip wasn't from Blink Anon 3:54? After all she's been turning over newly discovered evidence to WCBI since day 1.
ReplyDeleteBilly sure does have his panties in a wad today. All kinds of nutty posts and comments from the man himself.
The Worcester County Jail, 3:54?
ReplyDeleteMaybe if you all hadn't been so hateful to Lynn, and Billy and I you would know the truth, but alas you are all taking stabs in the dark.
ReplyDeleteMSP, You betcha!
A couple of really good special investigators from the county who believed a mother instead of telling her that her daughter was a sponge on society, but if you weren't so nasty to the family, you may have been told what was going on this whole time.
Instead you accuse of us of wearing tin foil hats and having an ax to grind.
Yeah, I gotta a big axe to grind, an axe that finds the clear and blatant disregard for Investigation 101 to be thrown out the window by McDermott and instead of treating it like a homicide immediately, treating it like a missing person, and a missing person who went off on a drug binge to beat.
His piety has only brought him embarrassment.
Let us all join together and pray that this family will finally get the closure it deserves.
Wymzie, FOR YOUR INFORMATION Kagen, Brent and Muir are ALL with WORCESTER COUNTY BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION!!!
ReplyDeleteStart talking facts or don't talk at all! That will be hard (the facts part) but try it for ONCE!
You do have an ax to grind Stephanie and you know it. And for you and your husband to inject politics into this is unf------ believable. You know what though it is believeable because of the character of both of you.
ReplyDeleteOn 2/8/10 the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit took Christine's case by orders of Joel Todd
ReplyDeleteOh God, Now they are going to dream up some other conspiracy because the press release states Brent, Kagan and Muir are from WCBI. Muir and Brent being the supervisors.
ReplyDelete.....and Anon 6:57 Alex Kagan listed as the invetigating detective (WCBI)
ReplyDelete..... and who told you that tidbit Anon 6:52, that "expert" Blink?
Stephanie, most of us could give a rat's ass about what was going on the whole time. Just because you and Billy are obsessed with Mike McDermott, most of us are not! Most of us have very nice lives and do not spend all day on the computer like you do. And if you for one second don't think the whole time she was in Pocomoke drugging wasn't going on, I got a bridge to sell you.
ReplyDeleteIf we all hadn't been so nasty to the family we would have known what was going on?
ReplyDeleteYou see Stephanie, the family has blabbed way too much from day one. Add you to the mix and what you don't know, you'll make it up! Enter Blink and we have a real Einstein. A 3 ring circus for sure.
Anyone who knows anything about Investigation 101 - LE has to have evidence of a crime comitted when a person goes missing. - Did you miss that class Stephanie?
Until recently, Christines case has always been a missing persons case. Get it right Stephanie before you run your mouth.
Go grind your axe somewhere else. We don't care about your fixation/fascination with McDermott.
Man, there are a lot of haters on here.
ReplyDeleteIf some of you had a loved one missing AND found dead a few years later, would you want the truth? Why are you all so damn determined to protect certain individuals? If you don't have anything to hide and are impartial, then the Sheddy's attempts to find their daughter shouldn't offend anyone.
Axe grinding justified. (......and you all call yourselves experts. P-HAH! What a freakin gong show you put on).
May I suggest for some of you compassion 101?
7:28
ReplyDelete"compassion" is for the weak.
please point out where anyone is trying to "protect certain individuals"
Ask officer Brent how long he has worked at WCBI
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you just tell us Anon 3:09, or are you just trying to insinuate something you know nothing about?
ReplyDeleteI have just learned of this sad situation. I am searching on-line for the full story. Can someone please provide a link?
ReplyDeleteThank you
Just google "christine sheddy". Keep in mind that the pocomoke tattler and the blink on crime sites are gossip sites.
ReplyDeleteI love it the way when these people are asked a question like was asked of 3:09pm and they just disappear. Like it's some big secret and a matter of national security for us to know how long Brent's been at WCBI!
