Update On Explosion

WESR received confirmed reports that a gas explosion occurred last night at the Masonic Lodge in Temperanceville. 911 dispatch confirmed that units responded to the scene around 9:00 PM Monday night.

WESR has received unconfirmed reports that there were two badly injured persons. Harry Godwin received first degree burns to his face and was transported to the Baltimore Burn Unit. The other injured person is not known at this time.

According to sources, the chimney and doors to the Masonic Lodge were badly damaged in the explosion.

Oak Hall, Atlantic and Temperanceville Fire & Rescue responded to the scene. Messages were left at the Atlantic Fire & Rescue Company for the officer in charge, Chief David Grant.

There was an Eastern Shore meeting of the Eastern Star Monday night, but most of the people at the Lodge were able to get out unharmed.
