Small fires were found in the pavillion located towards the back of Cypress Park, the restrooms and the childrens playground!
What a shame!
If my memory is correct those restrooms have recently had work done to them.
Regardless, this will take money and someones time to clean this up. And playground equipment is not cheap.
According to Dicky Gladding, PCVFC, and officer in charge, the fires were extingquished quckly.

This is terrible! Who would do this? That playground is the only place some children have to play.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it could have been one of the recently arrested drug dealers out on bond intent on retaliation?
ReplyDeleteGlad to see those taxpayer funded cameras are doing such good work. I don't understand. They caught someone doing lewd acts in the pavilion a year or two ago, but someone had time to set multiple fires and they didn't catch on? Why do we have these cameras if they're not being watched???
ReplyDeleteI can think of a number of reasons no one was seen on those cameras and it has nothing to do with not being watched! I wouldn't imagine cameras could canvas the entire view of the park. So let's not blame it on the cameras.
ReplyDeleteThose punks maybe be caught by now.
"Why do we have these cameras if they're not being watched???"
ReplyDeleteMaybe they can go back and watch the tape if the camera is still there. Maybe that camera was just there temporarily because they had info someone was doing lewd acts. I remember a case in which that was done. I can't remember if it was at the park. They arrested someone who worked in Pocomoke for it. He was making lewd telephone calls.
I understand cameras did their job and police have identified a suspect.
ReplyDeleteAll right! Great Job PD! When can we get the name?
ReplyDeleteImagine trying to watch all those cameras at once, On small monitors, looking for a matchstick or a small wisp of smoke on a hazy early morning!
ReplyDeletePerhaps the greatest value of the cameras is in the evidence they collect!

Thanks to all PVFC personnel for their quick action early yesterday morning. Many thousands of dollars in damage to city property was averted by their professionalism and dedication.
ReplyDeleteAlso, kudos to the PCPD on developing and apprehending a suspect already.

I just wish everyone could have pride in their neighborhoods and not do something like this.
ReplyDeleteI'm very sad over this.
Way to go to all that were involved in putting this to rest as quickly as they did.
ReplyDeleteSpecial thanks to the PCVFD because without such a quick response the bathrooms would have been a pile of ashes in no time, costing the tax payers thousands.
Hat Tip to all
