NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WAKEFIELD VA
347 AM EDT TUE MAR 25 2014


...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 2 AM EDT WEDNESDAY...


THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WAKEFIELD HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 2 AM EDT WEDNESDAY FOR THE EASTERN SHORE.

SNOW IS EXPECTED TO ACCUMULATE 1 TO 3 INCHES WITH TEMPERATURES FALLING INTO THE LOWER TO MID 30S DURING THE EVENING.

WINDS WILL BE FROM THE NORTHEAST 15 TO 25 MPH...BECOMING NORTHWEST.

RAIN WILL BEGIN TO MIX WITH AND CHANGE TO SNOW LATE IN THE EVENING. THE HEAVIEST SNOW CAN GENERALLY BE EXPECTED BETWEEN 9 PM AND MIDNIGHT.

ROADS WILL QUICKLY BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT. GUSTY WINDS MAY ALSO LEAD TO BLOWING SNOW AT TIMES OVERNIGHT.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.

  1. Well, the forecasts are off a bit. It is already snowing steadily in the Snow Hill area, no rain in sight.

  2. No snow or rain in my Virginia area. We have a few more hours to go and who knows what will happen when the wind begins to blow!

    I sure hope this is the last of it!!
