This real life soap opera-like drama resulted in the death of one of the women and was being recounted in court proceedings in Snow Hill. The following 1879 newspaper articles published May 21 to July 7 were from The Times of Philadelphia.

Footnote: The articles don't mention the location of the Hearn home but an article on the case published fifty years later stated the home was on Willow Street and by that time had burned down.

The Time Machine is a weekly feature I've enjoyed researching and compiling on The Pocomoke Public Eye since 2011. I have fond memories of growing up in Pocomoke City and welcome reader contributions we can share about things you've read, remember, or were told relating to our Pocomoke/Eastern shore area...a sentence, a paragraph, or more all fine. Just email it.
