PPE Footnote: As of October, 2021, no development has occurred at the former Mall property. Some portions of the Mall parking lot and outdoor lighting remain and are in deteriorating condition. The county acquired a portion of the parking lot across from The Wicomico Youth And Civic Center and constructed additional parking space to accommodate Civic Center needs. Anyone recall a food court as mentioned in the article? Eating establishments at the old mall over the years included English's Cafeteria (at the west main entrance), a restaurant in the Reeds Drug Store, Friendly's, and Leon's Deli. Orange Julius and a pretzel stand were located in the front north-south corridor.

October, 1971
In 1971, ten years after the opening of the new Crisfield Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary members gathered outside to be photographed by the late Scorchy Tawes. From left are Eleanor Sterling, Pat Mills, Janet Ward, Agnes Mae Harris, Angeline Townsend, Adele Cavanaugh, Mildred Tyler, Charlene Kelley, Elizabeth Mills, Emily Coulbourne, Georgia Sterling, Betty Roebuck, Lillian Hinman, Mary Betts and Frances Lowe. October starts with Fire Prevention Week but it's a lesson that carries throughout the month and all year long.
