Snow Hill area brush fire

On September 2, 2022 Snow Hill Fire Company was dispatched to the area of the 4700 block of Nassawango Rd in reference to a small brush fire. Upon arrival Chief 451 G. Smith established command with a working brush fire.

Due to wind conditions, the brush fire took some time to contain control of. Brush 4, Engine 4, Command 4, Tanker 4, Ladder 4, Utility 480, and Paramedic 400A-2 all responded from Snow Hill. Other units from Girdletree, Stockton, Pocomoke, Berlin, Newark, Greenbackville, and Atlantic Fire Departments all responded to the scene for assistance or to Snow Hill Firehouse or Stocktons Fire House for standby. 

It took approximately 1.5 hours to get under control and no injuries were reported by civilian or fire members. Approximately 25 acres of brush fire were extinguished.
