Pocomoke model train club celebrates the rails — and the area - Eastern Shore Post

How old am I? Well, I'm old enough to know that the white building to the left of the MarVa Theater was built as a Silco "Cut Price" store. In fact, I can remember when it was just an empty lot.

Your friend,
Slim

tk for PPE says:

You're not alone Slim.  I remember going to the barber shop (Marvin Blades?) which, facing the MarVa, was to the right and to George Reid's soda parlor that was to the left and, of course, Hattie Clark selling movie tickets from the booth in the MarVa lobby.  I believe there was a time when Duncan Brothers kept used cars on that lot where Silco later had their store.  And I still think of PHS as "the new school" (I attended the Market Street school.) So there you go youngster. 😎

P.S.

I have some memories, but our friend Slim has the knowledge and I always appreciate his knowledgeable comments.
