(UPDATE) Mayor comments on Roundtable meeting-

Mayor Todd J. Nock says this week's Roundtable was a powerful step forward for Pocomoke City:

It is my commitment to ensure that every business and non-profit in Pocomoke City feels seen, heard, and supported. That’s why I convened this Business Roundtable: to bring our local entrepreneurs to the table, not just figuratively, but literally.

We had an open and productive discussion about what’s working for our local establishments and more importantly, what needs to be improved. Out of that conversation, six key ideas emerged to help boost foot traffic, increase visibility, and create new economic opportunities:
 1. Expanding the Downtown Pocomoke Association to include more voices and resources
 2. Relocating public restrooms to a more visible and accessible area
 3. Establishing a visitor center in the heart of downtown
 4. Updating highway signage on both the northbound and southbound sides of US 13 to highlight downtown businesses
 5. Exploring the return of riverfront fuel access to attract boaters
 6. Looking into kayak rentals as a draw for outdoor recreation and tourism

We also discussed grant opportunities and how we can expand access to funding. I’m proud to share that the City is in the process of extending our partnership with Main Street Maryland, which will open new doors for businesses that previously did not qualify for support.

This is just the beginning. I believe in the power of local business, and I believe in Pocomoke City. Together, we’re not just imagining a stronger future! we’re building it!
