Crash involving tractor-trailer and train near Princess Anne-

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Maryland State Police were on the scene of a crash involving a train and a tractor-trailer on Monday in Somerset County. 

According to investigators, the crash occurred around 2:15 p.m. on March 2 on Peggy Neck Road near Princess Anne. Authorities say the tractor-trailer was hauling dirt and crossing the tracks when the train struck the trailer.

Luckily, no injuries were reported.

THE FACTS: Forecasts predicted a less than 50% chance of snow Monday afternoon until just after midnight followed by rainy and mild days. No significant snow amount was indicated. A later forecast included rain as well on Monday.

Pocomoke firemen confronted snowstorm havoc-

Beginning this past Sunday evening the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company maintained a volunteer staffed engine, rescue, command vehicle, and utility vehicle to serve during the course of the snowstorm.

By early Monday afternoon Pocomoke Fire Company personnel had responded to 17 calls for service, including assisting Accomack with a structure fire. The majority of incidents were storm-related, involving vehicles off the roadway, numerous trees and limbs down, downed power and utility lines, and assisting EMS.

Crews removed countless trees and limbs. Members also faced adverse and hazardous conditions, and in some cases, obstructions could not be safely removed.

Personnel remained standing by at the station, ready to respond to additional emergency calls.
