We just bought the farm!!!! 

This morning, many people came together to make a little Chincoteague history! 

Billy Beebe and his sister Barbara Gray said that this truly is a dream come true for them. Selling the Beebe Ranch to the Museum of Chincoteague, protecting it for the future was something that their mother had been talking about many years ago and now it has happened! 

Today, we would like to thank Bob Faith of Dockside Properties for helping the museum navigate through the buying process and Attorney John Custis for making sure all the T’s were crossed and I’s dotted. Both generously donated their time and services!  

Bob and John- we are grateful for your support and generosity. Because of that, I can proudly say, the Museum of Chincoteague Island owns the Beebe Ranch and it is 100% paid in full. This would not of happened without your help and the thousands of people who have made a donation! We thank you all! 

Now, the planning begins! Stay tune for more exciting news!

Maryland State Police Ready For Increased Highway Enforcement Through Independence Day

June 30, 2023

(PIKESVILLE, MD) — Maryland State Police will bolster enforcement efforts over the Fourth of July weekend to prevent dangerous driving behaviors and save lives as more motorists are expected to travel this holiday.

State troopers from 23 barracks, including members of the State Police Impaired Driving Reduction Effort Team, known as the SPIDRE team, will be focusing enforcement efforts on impaired driving, aggressive driving, speeding, distracted driving, and other violations that contribute to highway tragedies, especially during the holiday weekend.

New Virginia laws in effect July 1

Among new Virginia laws going into effect are those dealing with four-lane highway "move over" requirements, fake 911 calls, blue appearing headlights, farmland sales to foreign adversaries, local police 24-hour curfews, firearm safety reimbursement credit.

The Maryland Department of the Environment has issued a Code ORANGE
Air Quality Alert across the Maryland Eastern Shore...for Fine
Particulates.. until midnight EDT tonight.Air quality is expected to
reach code ORANGE...which is unhealthy for sensitive groups...and
means individuals with respiratory and/or heart ailments...older
adults...and children should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor
exertion.

An Air Quality Alert means that Fine Particulates concentrations
within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards. For
more information on ground-level ozone and fine particles please
visit the Maryland Department of the Environment Web Site at
http:www.mde.maryland.gov/programs/air/
