The Delmarva Discovery Museum is reopening Memorial Day Weekend!

A Community Victory

A Community Victory: Museum Announces Memorial Weekend Reopening- Now the Real Work Begins

After an incredible outpouring of community support, the Museum is proud to announce that it will officially reopen its doors on Memorial Weekend – more details on that will follow later.

In just a matter of days, donors, families, businesses, and supporters came together to help the Museum in its efforts to reach its critical emergency fundraising goal of $100,000 to assure that, with revenue from other sources (such as memberships, admissions, field trips, store sales, and expected grants), the Museum will survive through 2026. This achievement speaks volumes about the value this institution holds in the community.  What could have been the end of a beloved community institution has quickly become a powerful story of resilience, generosity, and shared purpose. This Museum is reopening because our community refused to let it disappear.

When I was a wee lad admission to the Marva was 35 cents. When I became an adult (over age 12) the price increased to the outrageous fee of 75 cents!

Your friend,
Slim

(tk for ppe says:)

I'm probably a little older, or "less youthful," than Slim so I recall when the Saturday afternoon matinee was 25 cents for kids.
