Skill and fun for a good cause on the Pocomoke at Snow Hill-

(WMDT)

SNOW HILL, Md. – Skilled canoers and spectators are invited to join the “Joust for Justice” to raise money for Life Crisis’ Lower Shore CASA Program.

The canoe jousting event will take place at 10am on Jun. 20 at Sturgis Park in Snow Hill, Maryland.

The charity event supports the Lower Shore’s division of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), which are legal volunteers who advocate for abused or neglected children in court.

Registration is $75 per boat, and divides participants into a Youth bracket (under 16) and Adult bracket (above 16). Each canoe consists of three team members, which includes two rowers and one jouster. Participants will begin by paddling out to the designated starting point.  When the referee blows the whistle to symbolise the beginning of the match, both teams will begin paddling towards each other and attempt to knock over the opposing jouster or capsize their canoe. Prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place.

Aside from the main jousting event, other highlights include children’s activities, live music, yard games, vendors, and food & drink.

The event is not only looking for noble jousting participants, but also for artisan and exhibit vendors, along with a wide range of sponsorship opportunities.
