Earlier Sunday Ocean City Police urged drivers entering or leaving town to avoid the Route 50 Bridge and downtown due to conditions prompted by the high tide.

TRAVEL ADVISORY (Sunday, September 27, 2026 9:30 a.m.): Due to standing water and current road conditions, S. Philadelphia Avenue south of the Route 50 bridge is currently closed. Residents living within the affected area will be permitted access.
Residents and visitors are strongly encouraged to use Route 90 as the primary route to enter and exit Ocean City. Please limit unnecessary travel through Downtown Ocean City.
Flooding from the high tide is expected to take several hours to recede.
DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH STANDING OR FLOODWATER if you cannot clearly determine the depth or condition of the roadway. Vehicles can become stuck, creating a dangerous situation for motorists and first responders.
Please allow extra travel time, use caution and follow posted closures and directions from public safety personnel.
