Former Shorebirds manager dies

 

Ryan Minor was manager of the Delmarva Shorebirds from 2010-2012 and 2014-2017.

An interesting piece of trivia about him is that when Cal Ripken finally broke his consecutive games streak, it was Ryan Minor who replaced him in the line-up.

When Baltimore Orioles top draft pick Jackson Holliday started this season with the Delmarva Shorebirds most fans probably didn't expect him to be here on the Eastern Shore very long.. and they were right.  So how's he doing since his move up to High 'A' Aberdeen?

For Orioles top prospect- how long a Shorebird?

Earlier this week-

Jackson Holliday started at second base and led the offense. He went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, a walk, four RBI, and two runs scored.

Delmarva Shorebirds 12, Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (White Sox) 2

Delmarva had the most dominant showing of the night, moving to 4-1 on the new season. Every member of the lineup got on base at least once, and some did far better than that. And the pitching staff worked around some early struggles to shut Kannapolis down the rest of the way.

SHOREBIRDS TO HOST 60 HOME GAMES IN 2021. The Delmarva Shorebirds have released a 2021 schedule featuring 60 home games at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium with Opening Night slated for Tuesday, May 4. Recently, the Shorebirds accepted the Baltimore Orioles invitation to remain their Low-A affiliate and will play in the North Division of the newly constructed Low-A East League.
