Post wisely for Back-to-School

Worcester County Sheriff's Office

🎒📚 Post Wisely This Back-to-School Season

Before sharing those adorable first-day-of-school photos, take a moment to look at what’s in the picture and what you’re sharing.

A child’s name, teacher, grade, school, favorite things, sports, or other personal details may seem harmless on their own. But when combined, they can give someone with bad intentions more information than they should have.

Celebrate the milestone and share those special memories—but consider leaving the unique details off social media. When possible, share those moments privately with family and friends instead.

Think before you post. Protect what matters most. 💙

Some people live their whole lives on Facebook or Tik Tok. They go on vacation and post pictures that say, "Hey, look at us! We are 3,000 miles from home, the house is empty, and all burglars are welcome and have all the time in the world to break in and take everything we have."
