The Pocomoke Public Eye says:

We asked AI how Pocomoke ranked in the national competition and was given the following reply.

Pocomoke High School did not "place" in any ranking because the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program is an honor-based recognition rather than a ranked competition.

Instead of competing for numerical places (like first or second), schools are nominated and evaluated against strict criteria to either receive or not receive the designation. Pocomoke High School successfully earned the prestigious Blue Ribbon School designation during the 1999–2000 state cycle and was formally recognized as a national recipient in 2001.
