Time Machine: 100 years ago in Pocomoke's newspaper; early 1900's Pocomoke High School, 2001.
Democratic Messenger 1969 Centennial Edition
I remember the cornerstone for the "new" high school was laid in 1957 and eventually held seventh grades through twelfth while the "old" high school on Market Street would eventually hold third through sixth grades. This went a long way to ease overcrowding, at least until the fire and destruction of the "old" high school on Market Street.
Your friend,
Slim
