Pocomoke Boat Docking Challenge is back!

We are pleased to announce that the Pocomoke Boat Docking Challenge is back and will be holding its 8th Annual event on Saturday, August 21,2021 in downtown Pocomoke City, MD on the beautiful Pocomoke River.

After almost a two year of absence, we have decided to take advantage of new opportunities to grow this event into a bigger and better one. You will still see your favorite elements: the introduction of the awesome sponsors that help make this event possible, Our national anthem sung on the Pocomoke River, the amazingly skilled captains operating their vessels, and an exclusive view of what small town competition looks like; but this year, we have revamped our sponsor guidelines, increased the number of captains, increased the event winnings, as well as adding more family fun.

We look forward to continuing our great relationships with sponsors, captains, press, and all our fans—and our staff is working hard. The Pocomoke Boat Docking Challenge committee is dedicated to making this year's event one of the best on the eastern shore.

Anyone interested in getting involved as a sponsor, captain, or volunteer should contact pvfd57@msn.com or call 410-726-5777. For more information regarding our event, please visit www.pocomokeboatdocking.com or find us on Facebook under Pocomoke Boat Docking Challenge.

Gates open at 12:00 am. Practice runs start at 1:30 pm. Competition starts at 3:00 pm followed by a live band Front Page News and an awesome firework display to end the event at 9:30pm. We look forward to seeing you downtown by the river on Saturday August 21. 2021!

Worcester Co. Schools mourning loss of Board President - 47abc (wmdt.com)

On July 30, the Worcester County Board of Education was notified of the sudden loss of our Board of Education President, Mr. Eric W. Cropper, Sr. He leaves behind his wife, Bess, and three children, and an incredible legacy as a leader in the Worcester County Public School system.

We have created this GoFundMe to help support the family with funeral and memorial expenses, and given his dedication to the education of all young people in our community, we would like to help fund scholarships for his three children to attend college.

All proceeds will go directly to the family.
