The community's help is appreciated and needed to keep our streets safe, put these violators behind bars where they belong, and to put an end to this ridiculous cycle.
We thank you.
Congratulations, Corporal Fitchett! We know the Pocomoke community is in great hands!
I’m pleased to share that Corporal Fitchett will now be leading our Neighborhood Crime Watch program.
Cpl. Fitchett has the perfect personality for this role—approachable, dedicated, and passionate about keeping our community safe. He’s ready to take on this new challenge and help strengthen the partnership between our residents and law enforcement.
Under his leadership, the Crime Watch will be structured by election districts, with the goal of having a representative from every area of the city. This approach will ensure that every neighborhood has a voice and a direct connection to the department.
Let’s show our support for Cpl. Fitchett as he steps into this important role. Together, we can make Pocomoke stronger, safer, and more united.

2025 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is April 13th to 19th. This week is dedicated to recognizing the vital role and dedication of Dispatchers, often the first line of communication in emergencies, always heard but never seen. It's a time to appreciate their commitment to serving the public and ensuring the safety of communities.
The Thin Gold Line is representative of Emergency Dispatchers. Although they are not always thought of when referring to first responders, their support to Police, Fire & EMS is said to be "Truly Gold".

The Pocomoke City Police Department has received State funding to equip two police vehicles with new License Plate Readers.
This will assist officers with enforcing traffic laws and improving traffic safety with new and modern technology. The cost to equip these two vehicles was over $30,000 and came to no cost of the city or the citizens of Pocomoke. For the first time ever our department currently has 3 patrol vehicles equipped with License Plate Readers.
Does your car seat have a snug fit? Do the “inch test” to find out. A properly installed car seat shouldn’t move more than one inch front to back or side to side when pulled at the seat belt path. Get more tips and resources in the Ultimate Car Seat Guide: http://www.ultimatecarseatguide.org
If you have questions about harnessing your child or installing your car seats, call the Pocomoke City Police Department at (410)957-1600 to set up an appointment with Ptl. Northam, a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, to get your child's car seat checked for FREE!
