Thanks to the efforts of our team members and visitors, TidalHealth will return to our baseline of masking only with transmission-based precautions.
Team members and visitors are no longer required to mask with patient facing interactions unless required by patient isolation. Staff may still mask if they choose to at any time.
TidalHealth will stay diligent in testing patients with onset of respiratory symptoms and fevers.

In response to a significant increase in COVID-19, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Influenza A, and Influenza B cases across the region, TidalHealth has announced that it is returning to temporary masking practices in its hospitals in Salisbury and Seaford, the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute in Salisbury and Ocean Pines, the Allen Cancer Center in Seaford, and at TidalHealth McCready Pavilion in Crisfield.
As a temporary proactive measure, surgical ear loop masks, which will be provided to those without one, are temporarily required for team members, patients and visitors in all patient rooms and patient-facing areas.

TidalHealth and its healthcare family deeply mourn the loss of Nevins Todd, MD, who passed on Sunday, Feb. 18 at the age of 92.
Dr. Todd was TidalHealth’s oldest living surgeon and the only doctor until his retirement in 2000 to personally know every surgeon to ever practice at the Salisbury hospital, including its first, Dr. J. McFadden Dick, who was hired on the one-year anniversary of the hospital in 1898.

TidalHealth, today, is changing its masking policies making it no longer mandatory to wear a mask at the patient’s bedside while inside either of their two hospitals.

SALISBURY, MD - TidalHealth has announced the return of mask requirements at patient bedsides and patient rooms as the US and Delmarva see an uptick in respiratory illnesses.
According to TidalHealth, the rise in respiratory viruses in the community is being monitored on a daily basis and masking rules may change at the hospitals with the infection rates.
The Hospital says visitors may be asked to wear a mask if accompanying a patient to outpatient services at all TidalHealth locations.

Free STOP THE BLEED® training on May 16
TidalHealth will hold a free STOP THE BLEED® training class for the general public at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16 in the Avery W. Hall Educational Center auditorium located at 100 E. Carroll St, Salisbury, MD 21801 on the corner of Waverly and Vine Streets.
Someone who is severely bleeding can bleed to death in as little as 5 minutes. That’s why bleeding control—keeping the blood inside the body—is the purpose of STOP THE BLEED® training. Techniques taught in STOP THE BLEED® can save a life in patients with life-threatening bleeding which is the number one cause of preventable death after injury.
