REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The Town of Snow Hill is seeking proposals for the purchase of the Black-Eyed Susan, the stern-wheeler paddleboat acquired by the Town in 2020. With full transparency, the Town advises that the boat was purchased near the end of an active Coast Guard operating permit and that as part of the renewal process for that permit, serious deficiencies in the boat’s structure were discovered.

Snow Hill, MD – The Worcester County Health Department received notification from the State of Maryland that two mosquito pools have tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) in Worcester County.
The pools are located in the areas of Whaleyville and a woodland area in Pocomoke City. The mosquito species that tested positive feeds on birds, horses and people.

Pictured first is Corporal Northam, who has been a police officer for our city for over two years now and has made fantastic strides in bridging the gap between police and our citizens!
Pictured next is Sergeant Lewis! Lewis has been a police officer for our city for much longer, close to ten years! Lewis is an active member in our armed forces and currently one of our K-9 handlers!
Pictured also is K-9 Zeke, and while not a police woman, is still a very good boy.
We thank these amazing police women for their continued dedicated service to the citizens of Pocomoke City!

The ESVA Chamber Fest drew a crowd of roughly 1,000 Saturday afternoon to Fairgrounds Road between Onancock and Tasley, to hear Lana Scott, Irie Tree, Jefferson Starship and Sawyer Brown.

LONG AGO BUT NOT FAR AWAY- THE ORIGINAL INHABITANTS OF OUR SOUTHERN PENINSULA
From a 1951 feature article in the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot. The author, Leonora W. Wood, (1892-1989) wrote articles of regional historic interest for Virginia newspapers and authored "Guide To Virginia's Eastern Shore" in 1952. She was an inspiration for the novel "Christy" written by her daughter Catherine Marshall, a well-known author. Mrs. Wood's husband was a minister who had served Holmes Presbyterian Church in Cheriton.
