TOUCH the SEA ~ Delmarva Discovery Center


Touch the Sea

10 AM to 4 PM


Join Andrew Wilson and the aquatic stars of Under the Sea for live animal programs at 1 and 3 PM. Visitors will learn about our fascinating underwater world in interactive presentations.

Guests will also be able to meet live animals, which may include a pufferfish, baby shark, and more and watch a fish feeding in the DDC's 6,000 gallon aquarium at 2 PM. Kid's crafts will take place from 11 AM to 1 PM.  Get your face painted, chat with local artists and view their work, or talk with a fossil expert. There is something for everyone at the DDC!

Event is free with paid admission.

Worcester County Arts Council Welcomes Brian Garrett As Board Member

The Worcester County  Arts Council   has announced their newest  Board Member, Brian Garrett.


Brian is the Executive Director for the Delmarva Discovery Center in Pocomoke City.


A graduate of Snow Hill High School he later attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County receiving his degree in Fine Arts and Art History.


He comes to the Discovery Center with over 10 years of experience working in the Museum Services industry. During which time he provided project management and consulting to Museum,Galleries and Private Collectors across the US.


“I have always appreciated the arts and want to contribute my efforts in supporting the Arts in Worcester County,” Brian says.


He is interested in focusing on public arts events and the relationships between arts as a means to document the unique ecological and cultural heritage of Delmarva. His personal areas of interests are paintings, sculpture, and music.

Mallards, LLC. will be providing heavy hors d'oeuvres during the evening; details can be found on the event flyer.

This event has been VERY popular and tickets are selling fast!

We accept visa, mastercard, check, or cash and we are accepting payments over the phone.

RSVP is not required for the daytime children's activities - only for the nighttime events.

News From The Delmarva Discovery Center

The Delmarva Discovery Center will be closed on Saturday, August 27, and Sunday, August 28, due to the serious nature of Hurricane Irene.

We hope that everyone will take precautionary measures to stay safe during the storm.

 We are tentatively planning to reopen on Monday, August 29 at 10 AM.

Local artist Sara Grangier will demonstrate painting techniques.


Sara did the artwork for the children’s book "Bob the Big Bad Bluefish"

Local artist Ed Kuhn will display fish carvings for sale.

Captain Walt will tell true tales of fishing exploits and demonstrate fishing gear.

Assateague State Park will have children’s games *Bring your camera so you can get your picture taken as a dolphin or a turtle!

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Face paintings by Tracey Arvidson!

11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Mrs. Coleen Mister will read children’s stories in the Beaver Lodge.

12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Bernadette Gesser, will be reading her book "Bob the Big Bad Bluefish" and talking about fishing with children.



1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Watch a SCUBA diver as she feeds the fish in our 6,000 gallon aquarium.

Sign Up For Marine Biology Summer Camp





Marine Biology Summer Camp

At the Delmarva Discovery Center.

Located on the Pocomoke River, the Delmarva Discovery Center provides campers the opportunity to learn marine biology through the exploration of their very own backyard. This camp is appropriate for campers aged 6 through 10.
Under the guidance of our expert staff, guests will receive a one of a kind experience, allowing them to learn through nature walks, crafts, live animal care, and our 16,000 square foot museum!
Your camper will be given the opportunity to dive right into marine biology, learning the care and knowledge it takes to keep our underwater residents alive and happy.
