This Sunday here at The Pocomoke Public Eye..

1959..  A Salisbury history professor writes of a long and glorious history of the Academy that later became Washington High School in Princess Anne.

1940..  (Ad) A Pocomoke City bank says why pay rent when you can own your own home.. total price is $1,000 and $250 cash will make it yours.

1893..  "Every one was mean and hungry, and seemed to want a square meal...".  Lower Eastern Shore mosquitoes are what's bugging the writer.

1950..  Wal-Mart would come later but Sam Walton's 5 & 10 store (picture) was a building block pointing the way.

The Time Machine is a weekly feature I've enjoyed researching and compiling on The Pocomoke Public Eye since 2011.  I have fond memories of growing up in Pocomoke City and welcome reader contributions we can share about things you've read, remember, or were told relating to our Pocomoke/Eastern shore area...a sentence, a paragraph, or more all fine. Just email it.
