Time Machine Preview

This Sunday here at The Pocomoke Public Eye..

1983..  (Picture) "Bridge To Wonderland" float in the Pocomoke City Christmas Parade.

1989..  Campbell Soup Company announces it's closing their plants in Pocomoke and Crisfield.

1922..  Construction is underway in Pocomoke City on "the largest and best equipped" department store on the Eastern Shore.

1931..   A large crowd is expected at Pocomoke's new outdoor boxing arena which can seat 4,000 fans.

1893..   Should fencing be required to keep cows and hogs in check in the Eastern Shore of Virginia's Atlantic District?

"Worcester County Can Take Care Of Worcester County" -Will avoid state program.

SNOW HILL – The Worcester County Commissioners agreed to give $100,000 to local food pantries.
Rather than participate in a state program that would have distributed aid based on zip code, the commissioners agreed to give $100,000 to local organizations that worked to feed the hungry.

Relay For Life Interest Meeting Is Monday, 11/18.

WESTOVER — An interest meeting to start planning for the 23rd annual Somerset Relay For Life, now the Somerset County and Pocomoke Relay For Life, is 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 at Great Hope Golf Course.
