Another white elephant by our local government officials. If there were any profit in this some private citizen would have done it. The county commissioners have no business plan, no idea of the expenses involved with watercraft and no idea who would operate this turkey. How's that riverfront restaurant working out for Pocomoke City?

When something appears not to be normal I was always told to follow the money. It appears that Lachelle Scarlato is a part owner of this boat. Who is Lachelle Scarlato? Deputy Director of Economic Development for Worcester County.

I have had the opportunity to read the marine survey which was conducted approximately 45 days ago by a licensed marine surveyor. The vessel is 32 years old! The vessel requires immediate repairs of 200 to 250 thousand dollars to make it usable. Most of the repairs are necessitated by electrical deficiencies, unsafe wiring and structural rust in the hull and deckhouse. The Coast Guard operating certificate expires in 2021 necessitating a haul out, bottom inspection and anti-fouling paint. The cost of a haul out is estimated to be at least 50 to 60 thousand dollars, even if no major repairs are needed at that time. There is no travel-lift on the Eastern Shore big enough to haul a vessel of this size. I think the world of Mayor Susan but I genuinely hope she stays far away from this deal.
