Pocomoke Neighborhood Watch-

Pocomoke City Police Dept

"Citizens of Pocomoke, I am honored to serve as your Neighborhood Watch Program Coordinator. Since my appointment in November 2025, we have observed a notable decrease in local crime; however, our work continues. I remain committed to ensuring our community stays safe and connected.

To address your questions and concerns, I invite you to attend a Neighborhood Watch Meeting on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 8:00 PM. This meeting will provide an opportunity to engage directly with me and representatives from the Pocomoke City Police Department to discuss how we can better serve our neighborhoods. The meeting will be held at the Pocomoke City Police Department, located at 1500 Market Street.

Furthermore, we are currently seeking candidates interested in representing their respective voting districts. These representatives will maintain a direct line of communication with me to keep neighborhoods informed and to proactively address local concerns.

Your voice matters, and I hope to see you on March 2 as we continue building a safer, stronger community together."

Corporal Ray Fitchett

Neighborhood Watch Program Coordinator

Alert: Worcester County Sheriff's Office impersonators-

🚨 Scam Alert – Please Read 🚨

We have received reports of scammers calling residents while using the names of Commanders from the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office. These calls are NOT legitimate.

🔴 Important reminder: The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER call, text, or email you to tell you have missed court and demand money, payments, gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency.

⚠️ Common signs it’s a scam:

- The caller creates urgency or fear (threatening arrest, warrants, or fines)

- You’re told to pay immediately or “keep the call confidential”

- Requests for payment via gift cards, prepaid cards, wire transfer, or crypto

- The caller asks for personal information (SSN, bank details, PINs)

- Caller ID spoofing to look like a law enforcement number

- Poor grammar, scripted responses, or pressure not to verify the call

- Refusal to provide a case number or allow you to call back through an official number

If you receive a call like this:

- Hang up immediately

- Do not provide any personal or financial information

- Report the call to your local law enforcement agency

📞 If you’re unsure whether a call is legitimate, contact the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office directly using an official phone number 410-632-1111 —not the number provided by the caller.

Please help protect our community by sharing this post, especially with friends and family who may be more vulnerable.
