Judge rules NO on redistricting referendum-

Pocomoke City Residents;

   The Pocomoke City Police Department wants our residents to know we are aware of the subjects riding dirt bikes dangerously, and illegally, on our streets. We are working to get these dangerous activities under control. When we inevitably stop the suspects involved the dirt bikes will be impounded and appropriate traffic arrests will be made for every traffic violation officers observe. We urge citizens to contact the Pocomoke City Police Department if these dangerous drivers are seen.

Two Somerset rabies cases, 1 in Wicomico-

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The Somerset County Health Department says a bat found on the University of Maryland Eastern Shore campus tested positive for rabies today (8/26).

Health officials say the bat was found yesterday in Carver Hall, a science building. 

TYASKIN, Md.– The Wicomico County Health Department is urging neighbors to be cautious after a raccoon tested positive for rabies (last week) near Steele Drive.

WESTOVER — A raccoon collected from the 32000 block of West Post Office Road near Princess Anne has tested positive for rabies. The raccoon was sent to the Maryland State Laboratory for testing after an encounter with a Somerset County resident’s dog.
