My father had the misfortune of being a pupil (not student but a pupil) of Miss Minnie Warren, a spinster sister of Elizabeth. His most frequent descriptions of her included the words "strict", "mean" and "bitter".

A later era but next Sunday's postings include an item about local teacher appointments for 1938. If you attended school in Pocomoke City in the 1940's or 1950's you may remember some of those teachers.

 (WBOC)

ATLANTIC, Va.- A mission to explore energy transport in space using a NASA suborbital sounding rocket launching May 8, 2021, from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia may provide a brief light show for residents of the eastern United States and Bermuda.

The mission is scheduled for no earlier than 8:02 p.m. EDT with a 40-minute launch window, Saturday, May 8. Backup launch days run through May 16. The launch may be visible, weather permitting, in much of the eastern United States from the Atlantic coast to the Mississippi River.

Where's Heidi?

You haven't seen WBOC meteorologist Heidi Weroasta recently because she has moved to Bismarck, North Dakota.  She has family there and is working at a TV station in Bismarck. She had worked at another station there previously.
