Edna Davy Muir Stump...I knew her well.
I recall one day she and her new husband, Brice, drove her Lincoln Continental to Norfolk. As they reached the end of the bridge-tunnel her Lincoln started to overheat so they located and pulled into the nearest Lincoln dealer. Instead of having the car repaired she purchased a new Lincoln to finish her journey.
She was generous to some and stingy to others with no rhyme or reason to distinguish them. She was particularly stingy to her only child, Frances Havey. Edna made a trip to Switzerland and Germany and Frances had only one wish, a nice cuckoo clock. Edna returned home and presented Frances with a plastic clock from an airport gift shop.
