Big duck (six stories tall) to Crisfield?

 (County Times-Crisfield)

Susan Miller stands near the World's Largest Rubber Duck when it was in Norfolk. It can come to Crisfield the second week of August if the Arts & Entertainment District has volunteers and vendors willing to take part in a "Little BIG Townfest" Aug. 11-13 at Somers Cove Marina.

CRISFIELD — The Crisfield Arts & Entertainment District is calling for public support to get its ducks in a row.

Board members have tentatively agreed to schedule the “World’s Largest Rubber Duck” to Somers Cove Marina for a “Little BIG Townfest” on Aug. 11-13 but to confirm they need to have committed support from volunteers and vendors.

The duck is six stories tall and will be in Leonardtown, St. Mary’s County the first week of August. It is available the following week and Crisfield is penciled in as its destination for the hours of 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 11-12 and Sunday, Aug. 13 from 11-5 but only if volunteers and vendors sign up to take part.

A final decision from the A&E board will be made this Friday, July 7. Email how you can help to arts@crisfieldcityhall.com or sign-up at the website Crisfieldarts.org  .

Mayor Darlene Taylor has previously spoken in favor of the visit, calling it a fun, tourist attraction that would especially be “something for our youth to see.”
