PUBLIC NOTICE of MUNICIPAL ELECTION CANDIDACY FILING DEADLINE

The deadline to file as a candidate for this year’s municipal election in Pocomoke City will be at 4:30p.m., Friday, February 2, 2024.  Candidates for City Councilmember Districts 4 and District 5 must file in person with the City Clerk at City Hall, 101 Clarke Ave, Pocomoke City, MD.  The fee for filing for the office of Councilmember is $25.00. A City Councilmember candidate must be at least 21 years of age, a registered voter of the County and a resident of the District of which they will represent for at least one (1) year immediately preceding their election.  The successful candidates will take office on April 9th, 2024 and serve for a four (4) year term. The election will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2020.  The last day to register to vote in this year’s election will be Monday, March 4, 2024.
