Dear Friends of the PPE
The voice of a proud veteren, father, grandfather, councilman, bestfriend to many, kind friend to all is silenced. We will all grieve this loss for quite some time.
We have received some sincere comments on the PPE and your warm comments are appreciated. Please feel free to express yourselves kindly.
And this is a reminder also to give thought to the passengers of the other vehicle, whom were also hospitalized following this horrible accident.
Remember to give support to those on the ambulance and fire crews on hand yesterday. Having experienced a devastating experience similar to this one many years ago I know very well how emotional it is for everyone of them. Theirs is a special and different type of grief and will need that extra kind word.
This is an especially sad time for so many. But Pocomoke does a great job when they rally together to get through a difficult time such as this.
Out thoughts and prayers at the PPE are with each and every one of you.
Thanks.

Teens & Dogs Help Homeless Pups Thru Music Video
AWARENESS for HOMELESS PUPS with POPULAR YOUTUBE MUSIC VIDEO/PSA
November 7, 2011 – Coronado, CA – Two San Diego teen singing stars are rising fast on the YouTube charts with a new music video/public service announcement reminding people to adopt their next dog from a local animal rescue or shelter.
San Diego residents, LIA MARIE JOHNSON, age 14 and ROXY KING, age 15 wrote the song, SAN DIEGO DOGS to the tune of Katy Perry’s, CALIFORNIA GURLS. But unlike most music video parodies, SAN DIEGO DOGS is a tribute to the song and includes a public service message reminding viewers to help out homeless dogs within their communities.
Within hours of it’s YouTube debut yesterday, SAN DIEGO DOGS achieved more than 1700 “likes” and 20,000 views ‐ putting it on track to possibly go viral and help many homeless animals find a new life and a new home with a loving family. Here is the SAN DIEGO DOGS YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFLNiLVVTY4
The music video and song single were also released on iTunes yesterday ‐ where all net proceeds go to the HELEN WOODWARD ANIMAL CENTER and the AMERICAN HUMANE ASSOCIATION.
Lia and Roxy performed together twice earlier this year when they sang the National
Anthem at LA COSTA RESORT for a national tennis tournament and when they joined in with the SAN DIEGO CHILDREN’S CHOIR at the JAPANESE FRIENDSHIP GARDENS in BALBOA PARK to raise money for the JAPANESE RED CROSS during the Tsunami disaster.
Ricochet will make appearances on ACCESS HOLLYWOOD this Wednesday to promote the American Humane Association's Hero Dog Awards that will be broadcast this Friday on the Hallmark channel, where she'll be receiving an award in the "Emerging Hero" category. She'll also be receiving a "dog of the year" award from the ASPCA in New York next Thursday.
SAN DIEGO DOGS was produced and directed by former WALT DISNEY COMPANY and KPIX‐TV producer, director and broadcast journalist, TONY PERRI of SURF’S UP STUDIOS, Coronado, CA.

Emergency Alert System Test "Don't stress, it's only a test"
Nationwide Test of the Emergency Alert System
Over the past year, our agencies have been working with the broadcast community, cable operators and programmers, and other communications service providers that participate in the Emergency Alert System; our state, local, tribal, and territorial partners; and other critical stakeholders to help inform all members of the public regarding the nationwide Emergency Alert System test.
Here are specific items we want everyone to know about the test:
- It will be conducted Wednesday, November 9 at 2:00 PM EST.
- It will be transmitted via television and radio stations within the U.S., including Alaska, Hawaii, the territories of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa.
- Similar to local emergency alert system tests, an audio message will interrupt television and radio programming indicating: “This is a test.”
- When the test is over, regular programming will resume.
For additional questions, visit the FAQ’s page and the FCC EAS Test page.

Huge Fire Roars In Preston....And I Was Thinking....
A massive fire roared through a vacant building on the corner of Main and Maple Streets in Preston, Maryland that needed assistance from fire companies from Caroline County and the neighboring counties of Talbot and Dorchester Counties.
I will always remember that building and the fond childhood memories that go with it for as long as I have memory......

Pocomoke City Mayor and Council Meeting
Mob Threatens Worcester Prosecutor...Big State Police promotion to Pocomoke native... Prominent Pocomoke business and civic leader is remembered.
March, 1932
(The Morning Herald- Hagerstown, Md.)
Mob Threatens Worcester County Prosecutor
Berlin, Md., March 24 (AP)- An investigation to establish the identity of the members of the mob which surrounded the Atlantic Hotel early today and threatened State's Attorney Godfrey Child, was promised today by Charles R. Mason of Pocomoke City, a member of the Worcester County Board of Commissioners.
Mason said the investigation would be conducted by the County Board of Commissioners.
Meanwhile, State's Attorney Child was resting comfortably at his home in Pocomoke City after being conducted there by Sheriff Wilmer S. Purnell after the latter and state troopers had dispersed the mob about the hotel. He made no intimations today concerning any actions he may take against the persons in the crowd.
The mob action followed the rendering of the decision by Justice Of The Peace William J. Bratten in dismissing the kidnapping and assault charges against Robert Allen, Chief of Police of Ocean City, and George K. Jarvis, prominent cattleman. The charges had been preferred by Charles W. Brown who said he had been waylaid and held a prisoner by Allen, Jarvis and two other men for five days last week.
State's Attorney Child presented the evidence for the complainant at the hearing last night and the attitude of the crowd wanted to know why the decision had been in the favor of the defendants. A window in the hotel where Child planned to spend the night was broken and the State's Attorney's automobile was wrecked.
After the hotel was darkened and the doors bolted, Sheriff Purnell and state police were called to break up the mob. Later the Sheriff took the prosecutor to his home.
Footnote: State's Attorney Godfrey Child was also involved in a highly publicized murder case from this same era in which Euel Lee, aka "Orphan Jones," was ultimately convicted and executed for murdering a Berlin area (Taylorville) farm family of four. To the reader who left a comment regarding this case on my preview posting this past Thursday, and to others who may be interested, more information is available at http://orphanjones.com/press.php
