Footnote: The reported sentiment in favor of a consolidated school was premature as strong support in favor of separate schools became evident. The Worcester County Board Of Education and Worcester County Commissioners later jointly agreed on separate new High Schools for Pocomoke and Snow Hill. In March the state legislature passed a bond bill for funding. Preliminary planning for the new schools was underway before the end of the year.
