WORCESTER COUNTY WILL BRAND ITSELF ‘MARYLAND’S COAST.’ Worcester County has launched its new brand identity, "Maryland's Coast." The County Commissioners unanimously passed the rebranding plan in August with the tagline “naturally cool,” created by Andrea Vernot of Choptank Communication. The plan focuses on the coast to attract visitors to Worcester County, not just Ocean City.

Don't know if you saw this in the Sunday Daily Times, but it's interesting that Pocomoke City is looking to get back into the golf business. Goes along with your 1937 item.

Anonymous said...Willow Street was used for many dances and other activities in the '50s, including Halloween parades and costume judging. I remember one year Kenny Pettit and Milton Rutter decided to go at the last minute but they had no costumes. They stole sheets off their parents beds, Milton put on a wig and red lipstick and Kenny put some leaves on his head and they went as Julius Caesar and wife. They won first prize.
Typical of a dance, more people watching from the sidelines then actually dancing.

As schools across Delmarva slowly bring students back to the classroom, Worcester County schools plan to go full throttle. In a few weeks, all students in Worcester County will have the option to return to in-person learning. Superintendent Louis H. Taylor is encouraging all students to return to classrooms on November 16th. Parents must let their child's school know whether they will continue online or opt for in-person. Some parents worry, that's too soon.

Why should anyone be concerned about ballot boxes in Maryland as they are irrelevant to this election. As far as the presidential election Maryland will vote overwhelmingly democrat, there is no senatorial election in Maryland this year and the congressional race for District One is not in doubt. Further, there are no local races because they are decided in "off year" elections. Anyone who goes to the polls will be wasting time and energy and anyone who votes by mail will be wasting postage and the time of postal employees.
