SNOW EMERGENCY PLANS WERE PUT IN EFFECT ON 1/28/22 IN ALL LOWER EASTERN SHORE OF MARYLAND COUNTIES.
CHECK CURRENT STATUS:
CHART - Snow Emergency Plans (maryland.gov)
SNOW EMERGENCY IN EFFECT
The Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack in conjunction with local agencies and The State Highway Administration are implementing the Snow Emergency Plan for Worcester County effective as of January 28, 2022 at 1600 hours. This plan is to assist The State Highway Administration in snow clearing operations throughout the county.
Once the Snow Emergency Plan goes into effect, all vehicles on the roadway must be equipped with snow chains or snow tires. In addition, a parking ban is imposed on all snow emergency routes in the County. All vehicles left on the shoulders of the routes will be towed at the owner's expense.
A press release will be sent out when the Snow Emergency Plan has been lifted. Motorists with questions can contact the Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack at 410-641-3101.

During the week of 17 January 2022, Pocomoke City Police Officers received information from a concerned citizen in regards to their personal phone being tracked.
The complainant stated they received a message on their iPhone which stated they were being tracked and showed the route of travel history. The complainant was advised to turn off all gps tracking settings on their device in the event that a hacker was able to retrieve information from their phone. (No tracking device was found on the phone or vehicle at this time).
Upon further research, Officers learned that Apple produced a device that has location-tracking capabilities called the Apple Air Tag. These devices measure in size of 32mm x 32mm x 6mm, approximately the size of a half dollar piece.
It is likely these small devices could be placed anywhere on a vehicle which would then track that vehicle's location and routes of travel.
Pocomoke City Police Department wants the community to be aware of devices such as these and if anyone experiences an event such as this to contact the police department.
Mark your calendar. The date for the Eighth Annual Downtown Pocomoke SPRING FESTIVAL is Saturday, April 2.
DUE TO ICY ROAD CONDITIONS, ACCOMACK COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS WILL OBSERVE A 2 HOUR DELAY ON MONDAY, JANUARY 24, 2022 FOR ALL STUDENTS, STAFF AND 12 MONTH EMPLOYEES.
