Wednesday members from the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company traveled to Baltimore City to assist members of the Baltimore City Fire Company in handling calls for service while they laid 3 members killed in the line of duty to rest. For the first time in their 225 year history, the entire Baltimore City Fire Company was out of service so they could properly honor their fallen brothers and sisters. Pocomoke Engine 102 and Prince Frederick Engine 21 were assigned to Engine 41/Batallion 1 in the Highlandtown area of Baltimore.

Worcester Sheriff's Office announces passing of K9 Regan
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts to announce the passing of Worcester County Sheriff's Office retired K9, and Cpl. Chuck Dennis' partner, K9 Regan. K9 Regan served Worcester County for 8 years before retiring in September 2020. K9 Regan was 12 years old.
During his years of service K9 Regan was deployed for numerous searches and apprehensions. K9 Regan was a part of numerous educational demonstrations and took pride in protecting his handler. The Worcester County Sheriff's Office expresses its gratitude for K9 Regan's service and extends its deepest sympathy to Cpl. Dennis during this difficult time.

Public schools status for Tuesday, 2/1/22
SOMERSET- 2 hours delay. There are concerns about the roads re-freezing overnight, therefore transportation crews will be out early in the morning to re-access the safety of the roads. Any changes to the 2-hour delay status will be announced in the morning. As of 645 a.m. on 2/1 no changes had been announced.
ACCOMACK- Virtual learning day for all students. Teachers will teach from home. Twelve-month employees will report 2 hours late.
WICOMICO- 90 minute delay.
Worcester Snow Emergency Plan lifted
TidalHealth visitation policy changing

SALISBURY, Md. – Starting on Tuesday, February 1st, TidalHealth will increase visitation opportunities at both TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury and TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford.
One designated visitor over the age of 18 will be allowed per patient for the duration of the patient’s hospitalization.
