WESTOVER, Md. – 47 ABC has learned that five correctional officers suffered non-life threatening injuries when they were assaulted by inmates in a housing unit at Eastern Correctional Institution Wednesday evening.

Forecast nixes big OC event

The inaugural Oceans Calling Festival has been canceled thanks to Mother Nature. Organizers said due to inclement weather from the remnants of Hurricane Ian, they had to make the difficult decision to cancel the three day event.

Due to inclement weather, Accomack County Public Schools with be closed for all students, staff, and 12-month employees on September 30, 2022.
