(In 2025 any responsible media outlet would be taken to task for accepting advertising mentioning the Klan.
In this same edition the Worcester Democrat ran a lengthy editorial that said of a Baltimore Sun editorial: "The metropolitan press is disposed to make light of the recent demonstration by the Ku Klux Klan in Washington."
However, the local newspaper's conclusion seemed to also make light of the Klan to an extent:)

Mayor Nock says-
8/16/25 (Facebook posting)
I’m sure you all missed my posts about what is going on in and around town. Truthfully, last week my aunt said to me “Todd, life is hard: you can take the mask off.” That is exactly what I needed to hear.
Yes, I felt the community had felt engaged with my posts, but I would be dishonest if some of the posts did not wind me and cause me to feel disenchanted. They did. After the Planning and Zoning director resigned from his position, I felt some type of way about it. I felt like it set Pocomoke back, and even though I had nothing to do with his resignation and was gracious about it, in my mind, I felt the shame for it.
But this week I found my way back to me. I realized people were depending on me to show up and be who we are supposed to be for this city. I cancelled my trip to NY and got back into the community where I belong.
First stop: 12th Annual Boat Docking Competition
Then I went to the demolition derby at the fairgrounds: crazy, and in the best way. I stopped by the Skateboard Clinic in Cypress Park and met with the facilitators, and they have big ideas to help us expand and revitalize the skateboard park. And I finished up at the Ice Cream Social at The Costen House, it was my first time ever visiting. I learned that in the 70s, the city owned that building and was going to demolish it to make a parking lot. But a group of citizens stepped up and bought it for $4000 and turned it into what we experience today.
That right there is the spirit of Pocomoke; stepping up and making things happen together.
Thank you for allowing me to serve you as your mayor. I’m back and focused and ready to move us forward as a city.
