ONANCOCK, Va. (WAVY) - Police arrested and charged the town clerk of Onancock with embezzlement, after recording her actions over the past month with a hidden camera.Police said Patricia Colleen Reiber, of the 15000 block of Waterfield Street in Painter, was charged with embezzlement of public funds by a public officer.
State police started started watching Reiber on March 18, and made the arrest on April 19.
According to court documents, police installed a hidden camera into the town office at the town hall. Over the last month, police recorded Reiber taking money from the register and petty cash drawers on several occasions.Police said they do not know the total amount of what she took, but at one time, she allegedly stole $200.
Reiber is currently out on bond.

Stuff like this happens A LOT more than most people realize. If the missing money is a relatively small amount the victim(s) usually choose not to make it public or to prosecute. But it happens every day, even in Pocomoke.
Police do not know how much she took? Doesn't the town keep records of income and expenses? It's not rocket science to compare what should be there with what actually is there. Sometimes it takes a little digging but it can be done.
I bet she's been stealing she she's been there! Check and see how she is/was living and compare her salary. You may be surprised!
I guess a discrepancy was noticed and the police notified and they installed a hidden camera. Yep, I bet too that she's been stealing for a lot longer than just this March.
She should have spent the money on a face lift or at least some decent cosmetics.
Looks kind like the nut case who lives in Bloxom,Va on Bethal Church Road. Did she move to Painter?
Onancock has a fine tradition of hiring thieves. I think it is in the job description for this job.
