Fire Department Responds to Control Burn In Oak Hall

Heavy smoke crosses Route 13 yesterday afternoon.

Fire deparments were called to respond to a control burn that became out of control on Paige Fisher Road in Oak Hall, Virginia.

Someone was trying to burn a group of old chicken houses no longer in use.

Second Suspect Wanted In Corner Mart Robbery Gets Arrested

According to Major Todd Godwin, on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, the second suspect in connection with the October 10th armed robbery at Corner Mart in Oak Hall was arrested by the Chestertown, Maryland Police Department.

Information was received by the Accomack County Sheriff's Office on November 9 as to the whereabouts of Denzel Maurice Timmons. This information was forwarded to Maryland officials who were able to locate Timmons and take him into custody. Timmons is currently incarcerated in the Kent County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Accomack County.

On November 2, Dijon Ryheem Smith of New Church, Virginia was arrested and charged with Robbery and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, in regards to this incident. He is currently incarcerated in the Accomack County with bond denied.

Accomack County Sheriff's Deputies Make Arrest In Robbery

According to Major Todd Godwin, on 10/10/2010 at approximately 11:53 PM, the Accomack County Sheriffs Office received a report of an armed robbery that occurred at the Corner Mart in Oak Hall, Virginia. When deputies arrived on the scene, it was determined that 2 suspects had entered the store and robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of money and property. Both suspects fled the scene on foot prior to deputies arrival. There were no injuries during this incident.

On 11/2/2010, Dijon Ryheem Smith of New Church, Virginia was arrested and charged with Robbery and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, in regards to this incident. He is currently incarcerated in the Accomack County with bond denied.

Warrants have also been obtained for Denzel Maurice Timmons of Pocomoke, Maryland charging him with Robbery and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. Timmons has not been located to date and anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Accomack County Sheriffs Office at 757-787-1131 or 757-824-5666.

Corner Marts Robbed AGAIN

According to Major Todd Godwin of the Accomack County Sheriff's Office, an investigation is being conducted in connection with two robberies that targeted Corner Mart convenience stores in Wattsville and Oak Hall, Virginia.

Several black males entered the Wattsville Corner Mart on Tuesday, September 28 at approximately 10:19 p.m. and robbed the clerks of an undisclosed amount of money and property. Suspect 1 is described as 6'2 to 6'4 and slim build. Suspect 2 is described as 5'5 to 5'7 and medium build. Suspect 3 is described as 5'6 to 5'8 and medium build.

Two males entered the Oak Hall Corner Mart on Sunday, October 3 at approximately 10:01 p.m. and robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of money and property.

Corner Mart In Oak Hall Robbed

According to Major Todd Godwin, on Saturday, August 21 at approximately 11:22 p.m., the Accomack County Sheriff's Office received a report of a robbery at Corner Mart in Oak Hall, Virginia. Further investigation revealed that a white male entered the convenience store and robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise. The suspect fled the scene in a black step-side Chevrolet pickup.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'6" to 5'8", 150lbs, wearing plaid shorts, white shirt, and a red ball cap.
