Worcester students get a BIG view

 

Students at Stephen Decatur High School learn about the impacts of substance abuse from speaker Jenalie Raphelt, a paramedic and director of events for Medical Inflatables, with the help of a larger-than-life inflatable brain and lungs. The interactive display traveled to multiple schools through out the county this week.

The Mega Brain and Mega Lungs was also displayed at Snow Hill Middle School, Snow Hill High School, Pocomoke Middle School and on Friday, will be at Pocomoke High School.

Something to smile about

 

 A Tenperanceville couple had a profitable visit to Worcester County recently.  The husband had good fortune playing a slot machine at Ocean Downs Casino and his wife won $50,000 on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off ticket purchased at a Berlin convenience store.

I am old enough to remember Maureen, Misty and Stormy, Misty's foal born in March 1962. When I was growing up every local child knew of Misty and the Beebe family. Every local was excited when the movie was released and I remember people watching it just to see if they appeared in it.

That time, sadly, has passed. Let the Beebe family move on in peace.

Sandra Marshall., Miss Pocomoke in the photo, is the younger sister of a previous Miss Pocomoke, Susan Marshall, who is now Susan Marshall Harrison and the current mayor of Pocomoke City.
