What about drug arrest? The activity is getting crazy over by 4th and Laurel again and Mitchells Market. we keep calling but when they get to us from the highway, after flying down Market St without lights on; the dealers have sold out. Somethings never change, they need to get off the highway and get back in town... where the people that need protecting are.

Guys don't fall for that mombo jumbo. Anon. 8:37 is just Rev. T. who is upset because the Pocomoke P.D is doing great. Those officers are out there and are working hard everyday. Pocomoke is a better place crime wise since the arrival of Chief Sewell.

I don't know who Rev T is or anno 9:40 but I can tell you that in the last couple of months the drug sales, use, and transactions have quadrupled at a min.

This will continue to climb unless the PCPO's restart their out of vehicle foot patrols (which have become nonexistent lately)

Their response time is terrible and worse is the lack of discipline on the offenders.

I have recently come to learn that a lot of our officers have become friends with dealers and laurel st criminals. even so well as to brag about the women that try to pic-up on during drug, disorderly, disturbing etc. call investigations.

I'll be looking much harder into this in the near future and hope I have nothing to report.

As for as the STY group, they need to get out from under anything to do with the Pocomoke Government, it has never looked quite right and looks worse now. Sorry but that's how I feel about that. How about a "Save the streets" group advised by the Chief and Let STY join the boy scouts.

I don't know what can be done about the dealing. You lock them up then they get out only to deal all over again. In other areas they've tried PD substations in problem areas only to have the problem relocate itself.
The ideal situation would be to lock them up and toss the key but that's not possible.
As far as STY it seems to me they are trying to regroup and refocus. I was pleased to see the post and pictures of the children visiting with the PCPD. I see this as a positive move. If the PD can intervene on the kids in a positive way now maybe it will help to minimize some becoming criminals later on?
I think Chief Sewell should be commended for taking this preventative approach and so should the parents who are taking advantage and are trying to get their kids away from the influences on the streets.

this police report makes me think if it wasn't for walmart thefts, there really would be no crime in pocomoke. please step up the patrols in the town on the north end, as you patrol the north end of town you will see that you can get drugs in town as well (4th street and on over to clark avenue)
